On March 6, the People’s Democracy Party (PDP) held its 16th party rally in front of the US Embassy in the ‘Republic of Korea (the ‘ROK’) under the theme: “Strongly Condemn the Invasion of Iran! Overthrow Imperialism Provoking the West Asian War!”
Participants vigorously chanted slogans such as: “USA and Israel, Immediately Cease the Invasion of Iran!”, “Overthrow US Imperialism, the Culprit of the West Asian War!”, “Overthrow US Imperialism, the Trigger of World War 3!”, and “International Solidarity for Anti-Imperialist Struggle, Overthrow US Imperialism!”
The Chairperson of the Anti-US and Anti-War Special Committee of the PDP stated: “The Iran-West Asian war is being fought as a confrontation between imperialist camp and the anti-imperialist camp. While the USA and Israel directly attack Iran, countries in Eastern West Asia hosting US military bases are supporting the US military under the pretext of defense. The UK, France, Germany, and Italy are providing political support to the USA and Israel, increasing military actions under the name of ‘defensive support for allies.’ Australia was the first among Western nations to declare support for the USA immediately after the outbreak of war, providing intelligence and logistical support.”
She continued: “In contrast, China, Russia, and the DPRK strongly condemn the aggressive atrocities of the USA and Israel, standing on the anti-imperialist and anti-US front with Iran. As the frontlines expand and the war becomes prolonged, the imperialist USA—devoid of both strength and justification—will face total ruin beyond mere defeat.”
She further emphasized: “The ‘ROK’-US joint military exercise, ‘Freedom Shield,’ begins on the 9th. It will be conducted as an all-domain operation spanning land, sea, air, cyber, and space, including field training. They claim to distribute the 51 field exercises held last year throughout the year, but whether they do them all at once or spread them out, the essence of it being a rehearsal for the invasion of the DPRK remains unchanged. At a time when world peace is destroyed and regional tensions are at their peak due to the Iran-West Asian war, they claim to ‘thoroughly verify the ‘ROK’-US combined defense posture.’ Ultimately, this US-led war exercise will only heighten military tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Only when the US military—an occupying and invading force—is withdrawn can the danger of a war in the ‘ROK’ vanish and the risk of the West Asian war expanding into East Asia be removed. Let us achieve true peace by withdrawing US troops and overthrowing US imperialism.”
A youth member of the PDP spoke out: “Children are losing their lives. Schools, spaces for learning, have become targets for imperialists. At least 165 people died at a girls’ school in Minab, Iran, destroyed by US and Israeli airstrikes, and many of the injured are in critical condition, so the death toll continues to rise. This is a grave violation of international humanitarian law and a clear war crime. On the same day, a high school in the Narmak district of Tehran was also bombed. Imperialists are not just striking military bases; they are brutally massacring children and youth who represent the future of Iran, completely destroying the nation.”
The member strongly condemned: “USA and Israel must immediately stop the massacre of the Iranian people. Donald Trump is frantically trying to plunge the world into a whirlwind of war, spouting reckless remarks such as ‘Every would-be leader of Iran will die.’ Donald Trump has regressed into a mere component of the war machine, ignoring public sentiment and committing wars of aggression. He will be recorded in history as a top-tier war criminal of World War 3.”
The speech concluded “The primary culprits of today’s war are imperialist USA and Zionist Israel. As the war in Iran spreads into a full-scale conflict, the dark clouds of war are overshadowing the Korean Peninsula where we stand. The end of the reckless wars started by imperialists to escape their own crisis will only be destruction. Youth and students, united around anti-imperialist forces, will overthrow imperialism and hasten a new world of peace.”
Finally, the participants sang the “Anti-US, Anti-War Song.”
