The CPRF released the statement in the 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties in Cuba:
We won’t drop the Banner of Struggle!
Appeal of communist and workers’ parties about continuing the struggle for communism in the year of the centenary of Comrade Fidel.
Our predecessors and teachers have passed their way with dignity and left us a legacy of the great doctrine of communism, as well as the richest experience of the revolutionary struggle in the most diverse and difficult conditions. Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao Zedong, Kim Il Sung, Ho Chi Min and other fighters for the people’s cause were not saints, but they were selflessly devoted to the idea of liberating labor from the yoke of capital. Comrade Fidel, who left us ten years ago, whose centenary we will celebrate on August 13, claimed: “Life without ideas is worth nothing. There is no greater happiness than fighting for them.” At the same time, our teachers treated the doctrine of Marxism as a science, warning us against dogmatism, REVISIONISM, NATIONALISM, tested the theory with practice and were not afraid to admit mistakes. As a result of the mistakes made in the Soviet Union AND EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES, socialism suffered a temporary defeat, but the idea of communism is alive and the science of communism is not outdated at all. Comrade Fidel emphasized that “It is safe to say that there is only one revolutionary science, and such a revolutionary science is Marxism-Leninism”.
Today, after the destruction of the USSR, the world is experiencing a period of reaction. The forces of world imperialism, led by the United States and NATO in the struggle for world hegemony, escalate tensions in many regions of the world, without stopping before unleashing bloody hotbeds of military conflicts.
We all understand equally that it is impossible to understand the issues of today’s cataclysms in the world without relying on the methodology of economic analysis of Lenin’s theory of imperialism. Vladimir Ilyich himself wrote in the preface to the post-revolutionary edition of the work: “I would like to hope that my brochure will help to understand the main economic issue, without the study of which it is impossible to understand anything in the assessment of modern war and modern politics, namely: the question of the economic essence of imperialism.”
The correct understanding of Lenin’s theory of imperialism is that not just the entire capitalist world moves along the path of imperialism, in the sense that today everywhere, in all countries, there is no longer a free market, but monopolies rule. Equally important is another position – V.I. Lenin traced the uneven development of capitalism and pointed to the increase in economic differentiation in connection with the formation of monopolies, financial capital and international unions of capitalists. The economic basis of imperialism is being created, as V.I. Lenin wrote: “As proven in this book, capitalism has now singled out a handful (less than one tenth of the world’s population, with the most “generous” and exaggerated calculation – less than one fifth) of especially rich and powerful states that rob the whole world – with a simple “cupon haircut”.”
It is this provision on the formation of the core of imperialism, a pack of the strongest and most developed predators, that gives an understanding of the essence of the ongoing processes, determines the assessment of the real essence (according to Lenin) of the ongoing war in Ukraine, Palestine, Iran, Lebanon and other regions. These bleeding foci and the potentially explosive situation around Venezuela, Cuba, the DPRK and other points are links in a single process carried out by imperialism led by the United States and NATO. A huge mistake of some parties is to consider the aggressive policy of imperialism in the gap by region and country. The same group of imperialists incites Kiev punishers against Russia and encourages the genocide of Israeli Zionists against the Gaza Strip. And the comrades have simultaneous claims that the resistance of Palestine is just, and the war of Russia and Donbass against the Nazis is an unjustified invasion of the same imperialists, are extremely illogical and contradict the dialectics.
It is a clear absurdity when, speaking out against NATO’s aggressive policy, some comrades miss, take away from condemnation the aggression of NATO and the EU against Russia. They claim, moreover, that these are the same imperialist forces. Hence, other erroneous conclusions about the choice of allies and the impossibility of forming broad anti-fascist fronts.
Comrade Stalin, speaking at his last XIX Congress of the CPSU (1952), called on the Communist Parties of the World: “The banner of bourgeois-democratic freedoms has been thrown overboard. I think that you, representatives of communist and democratic parties, will have to raise this banner and carry it forward if you want to gather the majority of the people around you. There’s no one else to pick him up.”
Today, when tensions in the world are growing and the threat of a new world war with the use of nuclear weapons is becoming a reality, when elements of anti-communism and fascism of politics are increasingly observed in the EU countries and other capitalist states, when the notes of revanchism for the defeat of the Anti-Comintern Pact in 1945 are increasingly visible in NATO’s aggression against Russia, the task of the Communists is to follow, in the words of Comrade Fidel, the revolutionary science, which is Marxism-Leninism.
Our task is to unite all forces into a broad anti-fascist front, to attract all possible allies to repel the main threat to the world – the fascist imperialism of the United States and NATO.
To this end, we call for the use of the opportunities of the community of solidity, the developments of the Anti-Fascist Forums and the World Anti-Imperialist Platform.
We call on all people of good will to strengthen a united front of progressive, left, communist, patriotic, anti-colonial and anti-fascist forces. We need to join forces in our just struggle. Acting as a united front, we must expose anti-communism, anti-Sovietism and Russophobia, protect the rights of workers, fight for a just and safe world.
At the same time, communists should never lose sight of the prospect of struggle – only the world of equal peoples, socialism, as a system of social justice and brotherhood of workers, will protect humanity from fascism, terrorism and war.
The courage and steadfastness of Cuba, the covenants of our teachers and comrade Fidel inspire us to continue the battle.
Let’s not drop the banner of struggle for a work!
