On March 28, the Union Pour la Reconstruction Communiste (URC) hosted a screening of “How Venezuela Moved Mountains”, a film about Venezuela’s local autonomous regime, Comuna.
The screening was held at the regional office of the CGT in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
The film is set in rural Venezuela.
It is an authentic portrayal of how farmers and fishermen who grow coffee, sugar cane, cocoa, and other crops, along with activists of the landless workers’ movement, collaborate and struggle to realize the dream of Hugo Chavez in farms, factories, and schools.
The film won the Special Jury Prize – Best Feature Documentary at the Latin American Film Festival in Bordeaux, France.
The screening was followed by an audience conversation with Venezuelan filmmaker, Victor Hugo Rivera.
Rivera’s previous work, “Season of Struggle”, was screened at the 2020 Mayday International Festival (MIF) in the “ROK”.
