Paris International Colloquium marking on 80th Anniversary of victory of World War II

The Paris International Colloquium marking on the 80th Anniversary of the victory of World War II, co-organized by the World Anti-imperialist Platform and the Pan-African Unitary Dynamics (DUP), was successfully held in Paris, France on May 10.
Since World Anti-imperialist Platform launched at the Paris International Conference in October 2022, the World Anti-Imperialist Platform has held anti-imperialist conferences in Belgrade in December, Caracas in March 2023, Seoul in May, Athens in November, Washington in July 2024, and Dakar in October, and has organized popular rallies, protests, and events, including the anti-imperialist struggle in the world.
The first session of the colloquium was on “World War II and the Victory of the World Anti-Fascist Struggle,” the second session was on “World War III and the Tasks of the World Anti-imperialist Struggle,” and the third session was on “New Cold War and Internationalism (Imperialism’s New Cold War Machinations and the Revolutionary Strategy of the International Communist Movement).” Delegates from the world’s anti-imperialist progressive forces and the World Anti-imperialist Platform scientifically analyzed the current situation of the anti-imperialist movement in the world and held practical discussions to seek common tasks.
Presentations, discussions, and Q&A were held according to each session’s theme. Session 1 was moderated by Eleonore Koffi, member of CPGB-ML.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Dmitry Novikov participated by video message and the Union of Communists of Ukraine, Antifascist Former Resistance Fighters Netherlands, and Aleksandar Đenić, New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ), and Vincent Mathieu, Communist Party of Belgium, participated in the Session 1. This was followed by discussions session from Revolutionary Unification in Greece, Unión Proletaria in Spain, Struggle Unity in Turkey, and DUP.
In the video, Dmitry Novikov said, “Communists have a special score to settle with fascism. We are inspired by the bright ideals of anti-fascist fighters. It is we who have great experience in the struggle and victory over the Nazi evil,” and ‘it is the 80th anniversary of the anti-fascist victory that encourages us today,’ he told the participants.
Session 2 was moderated by Coulibaly Adama, Secretary General of DUP. Bruno Drweski, the Union for the Reconstruction of Communism (URC), France; Cuma sat, Struggle Unity, Turkey; Farah Ibrahim, former Central Committee member of CP of Lebanon; and Joti Brar, CPGB-ML, UK. DUP, the World Anti-imperialist Platform, NKPJ, and the CARC Party (Italy) participated in the discussion session.
Augusta Efaña emphasized that the best way to help us is for comrades to know exactly what is really going on in the region, to be in solidarity with each other, to link up with the most militant and popular organizations, and to continue to tell the world what is going on and how imperialism is intervening in these conflicts and struggles.
The last three sessions were moderated by the World Anti-imperialism Platform, with presentations by Dimitrios Patelis, Revolutionary Unification, Greece; Manuela Maj, CARC, and Miguel Ángel, Unión Proletaria, and Stephen Cho, Organizer of the World Anti-imperialist Platform and Coordinator of the Korea International Forum. Discussions were held by the DUP, URC, CPGB-ML, the Communist Party of Lebanon, and Communist Party of Belgium.

Stephen Cho, Organizer of the Anti-imperialism Platform and Coordinator of the International Forum in Korea, pointed out that the victory of the anti-imperialist forces with an overwhelming superiority in cause, capability, and operation has already been proven through the practice of recent years, and that the historical experience of forming the anti-fascist front, which led to victory in World War 2, is today being inherited and developed into the formation of an anti-imperialist front.

In conclusion, he said, “It is a natural consequence that the revisionist and opportunist nature of the erroneous and absurd arguments—particularly those based on the “Imperialist Pyramid” theory of the Communist Party of Greece—which deny this truth, clearly proven through practice, are being exposed and condemned across the world.” He was convinced that “the final victory of the people of the world who unite and struggle under the banner of anti-imperialism is justice and inevitable.”

The moderator said, “we are in a historical moment where the World War 3 is ongoing. It is an crucial moment for the communist forces, anti-imperialist forces to maximize the anti-imperialist movement all over the world. Commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in WW2, let us keep our firm anti imperialist struggle under the banner of internationalism,” he declared, closing the historic Paris International Colloquium.

All participants took a commemorative photo.
