“The Struggle of the Palestinian People is the Struggle of the Venezuelan People” Caracas International Anti-Imperialist Conference: “Anti-Imperialism and Anti-Fascism”–Session 1

In Caracas, Venezuela, the International 9th Anti-Imperialist Conference, organized by the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, continued on Oct 22 under the theme “Anti-Imperialism and Anti-Fascism,” following the previous day’s session on “Comuna o Nada.”

In the first session, presentations were delivered by Henry Parra, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV); Úrsula Aguilera of the Committee for International Solidarity and the Struggle for Peace (COSI); Néstor Kohan, member of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity (REDH, Argentina); Aleksandar Đenic, Executive Secretary of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia; Alberto García Barcala of Union Proletaria of Spain; Pablo Gómez Acevedo, Central Committee member of the Communist Party of the Galician People (PCRG); Valerii Novikov, Second Secretary of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan; Stefan Petrov, International Secretary of the September 23 Movement of Bulgaria; Lusine Karapetyan of the Communist Party of Armenia; Shuruk Duqqa, spokesperson of the Palestinian Women’s Movement Al-Karama in Venezuela; and Materi Panagiota of the Revolutionary Theory Group (Greece).

Mattia Cavatorti, member of the international committee of the CARC Party (Italy), Luca Rodilosso, member of the international committee of the Italian Communist Party (PCI), and Temur Pipia, Coordinator of the Socialist Platform of Georgia, participated through video presentations.

Written statements were submitted by Yannick Vanonckelen of the Communist Party of Belgium, the Baltic Platform, the Eastern Initiative, the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), and Booker Omole, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kenya–Marxist (CPMK).

Henry Parra, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), denounced that, “The United States has designated Venezuela as an ‘unusual and extraordinary threat,’ and therefore they believe that the Bolivarian Revolution must be brought to an end. What they seek is not only oil. Not only gas. Not only gold. They seek to crush the hope of the peoples of the world—the hope embodied in the Bolivarian Revolution at this very moment, the revolution founded by Comrade Hugo Chávez, and the revolution that is being carried forward today by Comrade Nicolás Maduro.”

He further warned that, “US imperialism still regards this place as its own backyard. That is a miscalculation. They will experience another Vietnam and many Vietnams, because the peoples of Latin America have awakened. As Gustavo Petro said, any aggression against Venezuela will also be an aggression against the Colombian people.”

Úrsula Aguilera of the Committee for International Solidarity and the Struggle for Peace (COSI) in Venezuela pointed out that, “Neocolonialism does not necessarily mean the military occupation of vast territories of a nation or state; rather, it aims to destroy and weaken the sovereignty of existing states and to impose ‘protectorates’ in the pursuit of natural resources, advantages, and hegemonic power—as can be seen in the case of Venezuela.”

Néstor Kohan, member of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity (REDH) in Argentina, stated that, “The rise of neo-fascism is intrinsically linked to the historical crisis of the world capitalist system. In order to confront and defend themselves against this structural and multidimensional crisis, the forces of imperialism and capitalism are making desperate and aggressive attempts. For that purpose, they do not hesitate to drive humanity to the edge of the cliff—even dragging us toward the danger of World War 3.”

Mattia Cavatorti of the CARC Party (Italy) stated that, “It is war in Palestine, where the Zionists are carrying out a genocide against the Palestinian people like that of the Nazis against the Jewish people in the last century, and which is now forced to withdraw from Gaza in the face of popular resistance in Palestine and in the imperialist countries, on whose support the survival of the Zionist state of Israel depends. There is mobilization against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with the US imperialists sending their warships to its seas, the latest act after all attempts to destabilize the government from within by mobilizing their infamous serfs, traitors to the nation.”

Luca Rodilosso of the Italian Communist Party (PCI) criticized that, “War scenarios continue to plague entire areas of the world, and not least there is Trump’s threat to Venezuela and the shameful awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Mrs Machado, who has not hesitated to call for military intervention in her homeland to overthrow the Venezuelan socialist government. Unable to win in society, she appeals to brute force and this shows the bad stature of the character.”

Temur Pipia, Coordinator of the Socialist Platform of Georgia, stated that, “Today, Venezuela stands as a country fighting against international imperialism led by Washington. The Venezuelan people are at the forefront of the anti-imperialist front. Therefore, it is of great importance to extend moral support to the Venezuelan people, and holding such an international gathering here in Caracas carries great significance.”

Yannick Vanonckelen, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Belgium (CPB), emphasized that, “This old “EUROPE,” which proclaims itself capitalist, liberal, free enterprise, and competitive, increasingly expansionist and annexationist, is a sham. It does not want peace, it wants to wage wars of conquest. This is one of the reasons why the COMMUNIST PARTY OF BELGIUM wants Belgium to leave NATO and see it dissolved, because NATO has been imperialist since its foundation, aiming for world hegemony, and we want Belgium to leave the imperialist alliance that today forms the European Union.”

The Baltic Platform explained that, “In its foreign policy, Venezuela promotes the concept of the “socialism of the 21st century,” focusing on social justice, equality, and anti-capitalism. This course is rooted in the ideas of Simón Bolívar, aimed at the political and economic integration of Latin American countries. The implementation of these ideas led to the creation of organizations such as ALBA. In addition, the country actively opposes the interference of Western states both in the internal affairs of Venezuela itself and in those of Latin America as a whole. This anti-imperialist orientation, along with the pursuit of a multipolar world as opposed to unipolarity and U.S. dominance, constitutes an important part of the ideological platform of the Venezuelan government.”

The Eastern Initiative stated that, “We are entering a new era of wars and revolutions. For us in Eastern Europe, it is crucial now to unite everyone under the banner of resistance and anti-imperialism, regardless of their political orientation. The imperialist bourgeoisie has already started mobilization and is rallying all possible opportunist forces under its banner of Western European chauvinism, including so-called left forces.”

The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) revealed that, “The geopolitical value of Nepal in Asian context and the rise of its political, economic and social position worried the global capitalist exploiters and imperialists aggressors. A grand conspiracy to collapse the democratic system, socialist and federal constitution and peoples elected parliament was implemented on the name of Generation Z movement in 8 September 2025 followed by a nationwide vandalism with looting, firing and physical attacks on 9 September.”

The statement continued, “A puppet unconstitutional government was founded against the constitutional norms and supreme court verdict. The so-called interim government formed a biased inquiry commission and ordered police for not taking any actions against criminals who looted, fired public and private properties.  The whole devastations, conspiracy, provocations were carried out through social media and gaming app. Later on, it is identified that 34% of provoking social media accounts were fake that posted 100 thousand plus provoking messages that reached to 38 million users.”

Booker Omole, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kenya–Marxist (CPMK), expressed his indignation, stating that, “Today, humanity lives under the thunder of a new imperialist world war — a war not yet declared in name, but already raging in form. From Palestine to Donbass, from the Sahel to the Caribbean, from the Congo Basin to the South China Sea, imperialism seeks to preserve a dying order through violence, blockades, and fascism. The United States, NATO, and their comprador allies have turned entire continents into battlefields to maintain the profits of monopoly capital.” He emphasized, “It proclaims that the African revolution will triumph only when the working people seize power through their own organs — the communes, the people’s assemblies, and the revolutionary committees.”

Aleksandar Đenić, Executive Secretary of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia, declared that, “While Western politicians and media openly side with neo-Nazis, the countries of Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, with experience of European and American neocolonialism, view the events in Ukraine as Russia’s struggle against a unipolar world led by the United States. NATO and Western imperialism represent the greatest threats to peace, and the U.S., EU, and NATO pursue aggressive policies against Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and progressive movements in Latin America. Likewise, the U.S. constantly provokes North Korea and China, while Western imperialism bears responsibility for wars and the plundering of Africa.”

Alberto García Barcala of Union Proletaria (Spain) stated that, “The financial oligarchy resorts to fascism only when its system of domination and accumulation of wealth falls into deep crisis. The present crisis forces them to shift toward war policies against sovereign nations—and to impose these same policies upon their own people. This is precisely how the imperialist powers of North America and Europe act in their drive to dominate the world, attacking Russia, Venezuela, and the Arab and Muslim nations. We are witnessing a hollowing out of democratic rights within Western systems, a process that is part of a broader fascistization — accompanied by the distortion of the anti-fascist history of World War II and by tacit support for fascists in Ukraine, Israel, and Venezuela.”

Pablo Gómez Acevedo, Central Committee member of the Communist Party of the Galician People (PCRG), stressed that, “Today our task remains unchanged: the liberation of oppressed nations, the construction of an international order based on respect for sovereignty, cooperation, and equality, and the struggle against the exploitative bourgeoisie that uses fascism as a shock weapon on both ideological and military fronts.”

Valerii Novikov, Second Secretary of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, asserted that, “Let BRICS more rapidly establish a new world currency so that nations may free themselves from the dollar. It is through the dollar that its masters, the United States and the United Kingdom, practice fascism and carry out unlimited anti-people and colonial policies across the world.”

Stefan Petrov, International Secretary of the September 23 Movement of Bulgaria, pointed out, “Bulgaria was brought into the imperialist military alliance NATO and the European Union. US military bases were established on our territory. The country practically lost its independence and became a satellite of the most aggressive imperialist power. The fate of most former socialist countries in Eastern Europe is similar.

This is where I see the main similarity between the countries in our region and Latin America. Here, as there, the economic destruction, social disintegration, and exploitation of the people go hand in hand with imperialist oppression.”

Lusine Karapetyan of the Communist Party of Armenia stated, “As we currently witness, Eastern Europe, Western Asia, and Eastern Asia are becoming the three major theaters of world war.” She added, “The core of the present situation is World War III. In this confrontation, an anti-imperialist front has formed, including Russia, China, and North Korea. Now, this front also includes Iran, which is fighting against the imperialist Zionism of Israel. We believe that if the anti-imperialist forces succeed in this struggle, the imperialist forces will be ultimately defeated, and a new long-term revolutionary period will begin, characterized by the significant expansion of socialist and national liberation forces.”

Shuruk Duqqa, spokesperson of the Palestinian Women’s Movement Al-Karama in Venezuela, declared, “What is happening in Palestine today is the result of seventy-seven years of continuous massacre. Yet, they have not achieved their goals, thanks to the resolute and dignified resistance of the Palestinian people. This resistance has persisted and must continue, just as we must act in Venezuela. The cause of Palestine is the cause of anti-imperialism, anti-Zionism, and anti-fascism. The struggle of the Palestinian people is the same as the struggle to prevent the re-colonization of the Venezuelan people.” She further shouted, “Down with Israeli colonialism!” and “Imperialism will collapse!”

Materi Panagiota of the Revolutionary Theory Group (Greece) analyzed, “Fascism is a product of capitalism in its imperialist stage, and, especially today, as World War III intensifies, serves as its aggressive vanguard.” She added, “Only through a consistent frontal anti-imperialist struggle can contemporary anti-fascism and anti-Nazism gain meaning, organically connecting to the objectives of communists.”

She continued, “During World War III, coordinated anti-fascist actions are necessary within the framework of a global and combative anti-imperialist front led by communists. Moreover, theoretical, ideological, and practical struggles are also necessary against opportunist and revisionist forces that foster confusion and discord, deny the necessity of a frontal anti-imperialist and anti-fascist struggle, and attempt to separate fascism from imperialism.”
