On November 23, in Mexico City, the film ‘Nicolás’ about the Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro screened. This event is organized by various solidarity organizations for Venezuela including the Communist Party and the Socialist Chair Antonio Gramsci.
Participants watched the film and had a discussion about the current situation in Mexico and around the Caribbean Sea.
One of the colleagues of the Socialist Chair Antonio Gramsci chair who does political work at the university has said that she really liked the first chapter of the documentary series because of the decisive moment in which Nicolás Maduro has had to make the decision between becoming a baseball player, or fighting for Venezuela, it is a decision that many students face when we encounter communism and leftist movements, and many times we try that our careers are not far from our struggles, but when we have to make these radical decisions, we must continue thinking about the revolution without looking back because it is the only thing that will allow us to do what we like freely.
At the same day, the demonstration asking for the reduction of the working hours to 40 hours was held in Mexico City.
After the event, they sent the video message to the Maduro President celebrating his birthday.
In Mexico, the film was also screened on November 19th, the same day it was released to the communes in Venezuela.
