NKPJ expresses its solidarity with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kenya – Marxist, Comrade Booker Omole, who was brutally abducted by the Kenyan authorities on February 23. During his abduction, that is, illegal arrest, Comrade Omole had his teeth broken, one of his fingers was cut off, and the consequences of the beating nearly led to his death.
Comrade Booker Omole is currently being held at the Mlolongo Police Station in Nairobi, which is known for extrajudicial killings. Kenyan communists justifiably fear for the life of their General Secretary and demand that he be provided with medical assistance, that his torture cease, and that he be released from illegal detention.
The kidnapping of Comrade Omole is only part of the repression carried out against its own people by the administration of the President of Kenya, William Ruto, which since the beginning of 2026 has been responsible for 150 deaths, 120 disappearances, 1,500 injuries, and 2,500 unlawful punishments of all those who oppose the comprador government in Kenya.
It is no coincidence that this form of repression is taking place in Kenya — the country is the main ally of the United States in Africa, while at the same time having signed a “Defense Cooperation Agreement” with France. French imperialists seek to use Kenya for military maneuvers against the Sahel countries — Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger — which are fighting against French neocolonialism and have expelled their former masters from their territories.
It is clear that communists in Kenya represent the main threat both to the domestic authorities and to imperialists, and that the people of Kenya recognize those who fight for the right to a better future and for independent and free development. NKPJ stands in solidarity with Comrade Booker Omole and expresses its conviction that the Kenyan people, led by communists, will follow the example of the Sahel countries and free themselves from the imperialist yoke.
