The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on March 15th that it would “intensify strikes on Iranian military facilities over the next three weeks.”
Brig. Gen. Efi Drefin, an IDF spokesperson, stated, “We have secured thousands of targets in Iran and are identifying new ones daily,” adding, “In cooperation with the U.S. and other allies, we have established an operational plan until at least the Jewish holiday of Passover.”
Meanwhile, observations suggest Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system may already be depleted. Iran has equipped some missiles with cluster warheads, dispersing dozens to hundreds of submunitions to rapidly exhaust Israel’s interceptors.
While the U.S. and Israeli governments officially denied reports of ‘interceptor shortages,’ some analysts suggest Israel might consider using tactical nuclear weapons if it perceives a crisis.
