At around 3:00 a.m. on July 1, Turkish authorities under the Erdoğan administration raided the venue of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform youth camp and forcibly detained more than 20 people, including members of the Platform’s international delegation and youth activists from Türkiye. According to the organizers, the detainees are currently being held at the Çanakkale Police Department.
In response, the PDP held protests in front of the Turkish Embassy, where demonstrators continued their rally condemning the Erdoğan government and demanding the immediate release of those detained.
Following the rally, PDP members launched a 24-hour overnight vigil and one-person protest outside the Turkish Embassy, pledging to continue the action until all detained youth participants are released.
