On September 7, the Iranian Foreign Ministry sent a warning message to the ‘ROK,’ which is considering dispatching troops to the Strait of Hormuz under pressure from the USA.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei posted a message in Korean on social media, stating that “the relationship between Iran and the ‘ROK’ has a history of more than 64 years, and relations between the two countries have steadily developed on the basis of mutual respect,” adding that “Iran attaches great importance to its friendly relations with the ‘ROK.’”
He went on to warn that “under these circumstances, any country that stations military forces in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz or participates in military operations will inevitably be regarded as directly supporting the aggressor, and this will have serious consequences.”
He also stressed that “no country with sovereignty and responsibility should succumb to pressure and threats from the USA and participate in complicity in acts of aggression and horrific crimes against the great Iranian people.”
