Delegation of the Platform visited “Museum of Anti-Dictatorship and Democratic Resistance” and demonstrated in front of the US Embassy in Athens

On June 9, the delegation of the World Anti-imperialist Platform visited “Museum of Anti-Dictatorship and Democratic Resistance” and held a demonstration in front of the US Embassy in Athens .

The World Anti-imperialist Platform visited the “Museum of Anti-Dictatorship and Democratic Resistance”, which is run by Association of Imprisoned & Exiled Resistance Members.

The museum building was the concentration camp used by the Greek Military Police (ΕΑΤ-ΕΣΑ) to torture and oppress the Resistances.

The building contains the interrogation and torture rooms of the concentration camp, along with simple structures such as showcases, documents from the time and artefacts of the fighters.

Outside the building is a bust of Spyros Moustakles (Σπύρου Μουστακλή), a symbol of the anti-dictatorship resistance movement in Greece.

The delegation of the Platform shared the military dictatorship situation in South Korean from 1961 to 1992, and the history of the revolutionary forces against it, reaffirming the justification of the anti-imperialist and anti-fascist slogan with the Greek communists.

The delegation of the World Anti-imperialist Platform and the president of the Collective of Struggle for the Revolutionary Unification of Humanity in Greece held a demonstration in front of the US Embassy in Greece with the flag and poster of the World Anti-imperialist Platform.

The US Embassy in Greece is the historical place where the Athens Polytechnic protest was held decisively against the military dictatorship of Georgios Papadopoulos, which began in 1967.

The Greek communist and progressive forces have held a march annually from Athens Polytechnic University to the US Embassy around November, commemorating the historical protest.
