On April 13, Hope Bird, an artistic and musical troupe to sing for the reunification of Korea and for promoting anti-imperialist struggle all over the world, performed at Place de la République in Paris, France.
The World Anti-imperialist Platform organized the European tour of Hope Bird. It started in Belgrade, Serbia which bombed by NATO 25 years ago, and continue to Bruxelles (Belgium), London (UK) and Marseille, Lyon and Paris (France).
The event started with the speech from the Platform, “Crush the imperialist war drive with the power of the united people inheriting the spirit of the French Revolution!”
The speaker of the Platform said “People’s history constantly moved forward through struggle, resistance, and revolution. Republic Square is a symbol of democracy and a symbol of the people’s revolutionary advance.”, “The French Resistance struggle during World War II led to the strengthening of the world anti-fascist united front and victory in the world anti-fascist war”.
“The just struggle of the anti-imperialist camp for final victory in the 21st century is a historical necessity and a noble duty. Just as the history of the Paris Commune began in the Bastille in 1871, the World Anti-Imperialism Platform remembers the history of the French Revolution, the Paris Commune, and the Resistance and will strengthen the global anti-imperialist joint struggle, which is the demand of this era. In order to end the common enemies of the world’s people, US imperialism, NATO, and fascist puppets, the World Anti-imperialist Platform will disband NATO with the power of the European people, and eradicate the imperialist aggression forces through the joint struggle of the world’s progressive humanity.”, she added.
The speaker from the Pole of Communist Revival in France (PRCF) emphasized that 3 quarters of the french people oppose Macron’s insane idea to send ground troops to Ukraine, The risk that French territory will become a first target for the Russian nuclear power is increasing, The PRCF will continue to struggle against Euro-NATO provocateurs who would lead France and the world to disaster.
After the speeches, the Hope Bird presented a theater and musical performance.
Beginning with “Song of May 1, 2, 3”, Hope Bird played “There That Day in May 1980” and performed with Red Flag, singing “Under the mountains and streams” and “Over the land and the sky down”.
The performance continued with the songs “Do you hear the people sing?”, “Fly high, dove”, “¡El pueblo unido jamás será vencido!”, “Listen Yankee”, “Marching for the beloved”, “Let morning shine”, “Trail”, and “Bella Ciao”.
At the end of the event, the participants and citizens chanted “Stop the imperialist drive to war!”, “Withdraw the US military base, the source of all evil!” “A people united will never be defeated!” and sang “The international” together.
