April World Anti-imperialist Joint Struggle at 7 cities in South Korea

From April 12 to 17, the World Anti-imperialist Joint Struggles were carried out at Gwangju, Incheon, Pyeongtaek, Seoul, Daejeon, Gongju, and Jeonju in South Korea.

They were organized by the World Anti-imperialist Platform (the Platform) and the Headquarters for Anti-US imperialist struggle.

The demonstration was conducted in Gwangju at the square of the 1980 Gwangju Uprising, in Incheon, in front of the Mc Arthur, and in Pyeongtaek, in front of Camp Humphreys, the largest overseas U.S. Military installation in the world.

The participants held pickets with the slogan “Stop the US imperialist drive to war!”, “Withdraw all US foreign bases!”, “The people united will never be defeated! We will certainly win!”.

They also held a banner with the slogan “Down with Yoon Suk-yeol, pro-US and fascist warmonger! Withdraw the invading forces, US troops!”

The statement was announced in Korean. It said, “Fascist Yoon Seok-yeol is going crazy with his ‘South Korean War’ provocations. Yoon, who ordered the military to invade North Korea in December last year with the words ‘act first, report afterward’, has been conducting war drills without stopping since the beginning of the year to the present.”

It continued, “The U.S. imperialists are frantically trying to bring World War III in full swing, which began from Ukraine in 2022 and intensified in Palestine-South Asia in 2023, by newly breaking out in East Asia and expanding into Eastern Europe.”, “These facts show that as long as imperialism exists, wars of aggression will continue. Anti-imperialist joint actions on a global scale are the only way out of imperialist oppression and violence. We the people will overthrow Yun Seok-yeol, pro-US warmongers, by the anti-Yoon and anti-US struggle and withdraw the US troops, and advance a new society of global independence, peace, and people’s democracy.”
