NKPJ announced statement commemorating Odessa Massacre in 2014

ODESSA, 02. MAY 2024. – WE REMEMBER!

On this day exactly 10 years ago, a horrific massacre orchestrated by Bandera fascists occurred in the Black Sea city of Odessa.

Members of the anti-Maidan movement, who had been protesting against fascist coupists for days and had their base in front of the Odessa Trade Union House, where the Communist Party of Ukraine also had its premises, were attacked by a coalition of pro-fascist hooligans and members of the Right Sector. They threw Molotov cocktails at the windows until the trade union building started burning, and cold-bloodedly killed people who tried to escape through the windows using firearms.

The Odessa police received a direct command from Kiev not to react. Thus, this horrific crime was not prevented, but aided and organized directly by the coupist fascist authorities in Kiev. After the massacre, an “investigation” into the crime was launched, but it has yielded no results to this day, and numerous pieces of evidence have been destroyed. The Kiev authorities remain silent on this issue.

The death toll is 48, with around 250 injured. Among the victims was a woman in advanced pregnancy who did not die from the fire but was killed by one of the fascist villains who managed to enter the building before it burned down.

The youngest victim was seventeen-year-old Komsomol member and activist of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the Komsomol of Ukraine Vadim Papura, who became a symbol of this tragedy. When young Vadim heard that the fascist forces were heading to the Trade Union House where his party comrades were, he immediately went there. On that occasion, his grandmother asked him where he was going, and he replied: “to defend you.” Defending his loved ones and innocent people from the Trade Union House, Vadim defended the whole world from the greatest evil that mankind has invented, the evil of fascism, and he gave his young life in that struggle.

We will not forget Odessa!

Eternal glory to the victims of fascism in Odessa!
