A rally was held in front of the Embassy of the “Republic of Korea (ROK)” in Madrid, Spain, on September 10 to condemn the fascist repression by the Yoon Suk-yeol government and to express solidarity with the People’s Democracy Party (PDP).
The rally was organized by the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) and Unión Proletaria. Iniciativa Comunista and others also actively participated. All parties and political organizations that joined this rally for international solidarity had signed the Paris Declaration of the World Anti-imperialist Platform and co-organized the Madrid International Conference in June.
Activists from Spanish parties, including the international secretary of the PCPE, expressed their international solidarity with the PDP in front of the embassy. Before the rally, the participants delivered a signed letter of protest condemning Yoon’s fascist crackdown on legitimate political parties.
They condemned the repression against the PDP by the unprecedented evil fascist law, the National Security Act, and chanted antifascist slogans such as “No repression against the PPD!”, “Down with fascist warmonger Yoon suk-yeol!”, “Abolish the National Security Act!”, and anti-NATO slogans such as “Yankee Go Home!” and “Disband NATO!”.
Eduardo Vecino, head of the Madrid office of the PCPE, condemned the fascist government’s crackdown on the PDP and expressed strong international solidarity.
Miguel Ángel, a representative of the Unión Proletaria, issued a Spanish translation of the PDP statement, “The doom of the fascist lunatic Yoon Suk-yeol is near.”
The statement said, “Yoon Suk-yeol, who is the president of South Korea, is carrying out a vicious fascist suppression against a constitutional political party,” and “The ‘public security’ oppression against a constitutional political party further convinces us that Yoon Suk-yeol is aiming for martial law.”
It went on that “In a situation where fascist groups, claiming to be the vanguard of U.S. imperialist aggressors, are facing defeat or struggling on various fronts of a potential Third World War, resulting in increasing isolation and crisis, Yoon Suk-yeol cannot be an exception,” and said, “Our people will unite in the struggle against Yoon Suk-yeol and U.S. imperialism, overthrowing the fascist warmonger Yoon Suk-yeol, defeating imperialist aggression, and advancing and achieving a new world of independence and peace.”
The participants were outraged by the police’s fascist repression and shouted slogans such as “Solidarity with the PDP!” “Down with fascist Yoonl!” and “Abolish the National Security Act!”.
The international solidarity and joint struggle in support of the PDP continues.
