DPRK Permanent Mission to UN Submits Document to UN Secretariat Demanding End to Anti-Cuba U.S. Embargo
Recently, the Permanent Mission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the United Nations submitted a document to the UN Secretariat clarifying the stand of the DPRK government in regard to the implementation of the UN General Assembly resolution entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba” adopted at the 77th UNGA.
It stated that over the 60 years since the U.S. imposed an all-out economic embargo against Cuba for the mere reason that its people and government have chosen its development path under the socialist system, the Cuban people have been subjected to immeasurable pains and sufferings amidst brutal and prolonged blockade. It further noted that the U.S. maximum pressure policy and economic blockades against Cuba still remains in force and have even been tightened unprecedentedly in the context of global crisis.
Stating that it is the unanimous desire of the whole international community to withdraw all hostile policies and brutal inhumane sanctions and blockades against independent states that infringe upon their sovereignty and put an end to crimes against humanity and violation of human rights, the document strongly demanded that the U.S. immediately lifts all its extraterritorial economic and financial embargo against Cuba as was stipulated in the relevant UNGA resolutions and further removes Cuba from the list of States Sponsors of Terrorism.
It stated that the U.S. needs to abandon its anachronistic illusion that it could disrupt the Cuban socialist system and bring the Cuban people to their knees by dint of sanctions and pressure, and concluded as follows:
The DPRK government expresses its unreserved support to and solidarity with the people and government of Cuba in their struggle to foil the U.S. sanctions and embargoes and to realize the independent development and prosperity of the country and call upon all the member states to support the resolution as unanimous desire of the international community.

La Misión Permanente de la República Popular Democrática de Corea en la ONU presentó un documento que exige el levantamiento del bloqueo económico de EE.UU. contra Cuba
Recientemente, la Misión Permanente de la República Popular Democrática de Corea (RPDC) en la ONU presentó un documento que aclara la posición del Gobierno de la RPDC relacionada con la implementación de la resolución titulada “La necesidad de poner fin al bloqueo económico, comercial y financiero de EE.UU. contra Cuba” adoptada en la 77 sesión de la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas.
El documento señaló que, durante más de 60 años pasados desde que EE.UU. tomó las medidas del bloqueo económico general a Cuba por la única razón de que este país escogió su camino del desarrollo bajo el sistema socialista, el pueblo cubano ha sufrido incontables desgracias y dolores debido al atroz y largo bloqueo y para colmo, en medio de la crisis mundial, la política de máxima presión y el bloqueo económico de EE.UU. contra Cuba se han mantenido continuadamente e intensificado sin precedentes.
Y exigió fuertemente a EE.UU. levantar inmediatamente el extraterritorial bloqueo económico y financiero y, para más adelante, tachar el nombre de Cuba de la lista de los “países patrocinadores del terrorismo” como está estipulado en las correspondientes resoluciones de la Asamblea General de la ONU y acorde con el unánime anhelo de la sociedad internacional de retirar todas las políticas hostiles y atroces e inhumanos sanciones y bloqueo que violan la soberanía de todos los Estados soberanos y poner fin a los crímenes de lesa humanidad y actos de violación de derechos humanos.
Por último, el documento señaló que EE.UU. tiene que despertarse de la anacrónica ilusión de que podrá destruir el sistema socialista cubano y doblegar al pueblo cubano con las sanciones y presiones y enfatizó como sigue.
La República Popular Democrática de Corea expresa una vez más el firme apoyo y solidaridad al gobierno y pueblo cubanos que luchan por frustrar las sanciones y el bloqueo de EE.UU. y lograr el desarrollo independiente y la prosperidad del país y exhorta a todos los países miembros a apoyar la resolución sobre el levantamiento del bloqueo contra Cuba que refleja el unánime anhelo de la sociedad internacional.

Постоянное представительство КНДР в ООН представило Секретариату ООН документ, требующий от США прекращения экономической блокады против Кубы
В последнее время Постоянное представительство Корейской Народно-Демократической Республики при ООН представило Секретариату ООН документ, в котором выразило позицию Правительства КНДР в связи с выполнением резолюции 77-й сессии ГА ООН «Необходимость прекращения экономической, торговой и финансовой блокады США против Кубы».
Документ отметил, что за прошлые более 60 лет с тех пор, как США приняли всесторонние экономические блокадные меры в отношении Кубы по одной причине, что Куба выбрала путь развития при социалистическом строе, кубинский народ из-за жестокой и долговременной блокады потерпел неисчислимое бедствие и страдания, и более того на фоне мирового кризиса максимальная политика нажима и экономическая блокада США против Кубы продолжались и беспрецедентно усилились.
Также основательно потребовал от США немедленно снять экстерриториальную экономическую и финансовую блокаду в отношении Кубы, как определено в соответствующих резолюциях ГА ООН, согласно с единодушными чаяниями международного сообщества об отмене всякой враждебной политики, варварских и нечеловеческих санкций и блокады, посягающих на суверенитет самостоятельных государств, о положении конец антигуманному преступлению и попранию прав человека, и исключить Кубу из списка «государств-спонсоров терроризма».
В заключение документ заявил, что США должны расстаться с анахронической иллюзией, что санкциями и нажимом могут развалить социалистический строй и покорить кубинский народ. И далее подчеркнул нижеследующее.
КНДР еще раз выражает надежную поддержку и солидарность правительству и народу Кубы, борющимся против санкций и блокады США и за самостоятельное развитие и процветание страны, и призывает все государства-члены к поддержке резолюции о прекращении блокады против Кубы, в которой отражены единодушные чаяния международного сообщества.
