A strong solidarity protest for Venezuela took place in front of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, the “Republic of Korea.”
On May 24, the People’s Democracy Party, the Anti-US Struggle Headquarters, the Anti-Fascist People’s Action, and the South Korean Office of the WFTU gathered with Thierry Deronne—a Belgian-born Venezuelan film director, vice president of the public television channel Vive TV, and political activist—to call for an end to sanctions against Venezuela.
The solidarity action followed immediately after an anti-fascist and anti-imperialist rally titled “Arrest of the Ringleaders of an Insurrection! Dissolve the Insurrection Party! Crush the Plot for Civil War!”
Participants held a banner from the World Anti-imperialist Platform reading “End Sanctions on Venezuela!” and energetically chanted slogans led by Director Deronne.
The signs at the protest said: ¡LA LUCHA CONTINÚA! (The struggle continues!) ¡Victoria para Maduro! (Victory for Maduro!), VIVA MADURO
