Merz, promise to deliver longer-ranged weapons systems to Ukraine

Friedrich Merz, the German Chancellor, announced that Germany has lifted the range restrictions on weapons provided to Ukraine.
According to AP, on May 26, Merz announced in an interview that the restrictions on the range of weapons provided to Ukraine had been lifted, adding that the UK, France and the US had made the same decision.
Until now, Germany and other Western countries have supported Ukraine with various missiles and fighter jets, but have imposed restrictions on the range of these weapons to prevent them from reaching Russian territory. However, the decision to lift the restrictions has led to concerns about the potential for escalation.
Russia has already warned that it would consider any attack on its territory using Western-supplied missiles as an act of war.
The Kremlin issued a statement shortly after the announcement of Chancellor Merz, calling it a dangerous decision.
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, said that if these reports were true, it would be an attempt to disrupt Russia’s peace, and that it would be a very dangerous decision.
