Russian National Security Council Secretary Visits DPRK

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s closest ally, Sergei Shoigu, the secretary of the Russian National Security Council, visited the DPRK, Russian media reported.
According to Tass and Sputnik, Shoigu traveled on Putin’s instructions and is expected to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The National Security Council revealed that “The two sides will discuss the implementation of some of the contents of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty (North Korea-Russia Treaty) between Russia and North Korea and perpetuate the memories of North Korean fighters who helped liberate the Kursk region in Russia.”
They will also discuss international affairs, including the war in Ukraine, TASS reported.
Shoigu’s visit comes two and a half months after he traveled to Pyongyang on March 21 to deliver Putin’s letter to Chairman Kim Jong Un.
