On 7 and 8 of July, the People’s Democracy Party (PDP) in “Republic of Korea” organised rallies, marches, and political speeches against the police, who are currently cracking down on political parties under the National Security Act.
On the 8th, the PDP held a rally in front of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency titled “Stop Cracking Down on the PDP! Abolish the National Security Act!
The chair of the Special Committee on Anti-American and Anti-War Affairs of the PDP, said and condemned “It was on August 30 last year that former President Yoon Suk-yeol drove into the constitutional party, the PDP, a group that benefits the enemy group, in preparation for emergency martial law on December 3, 2024. Police raided the Party office, and searched and seizure the homes of the party’s former President and city and provincial party chairmen. It makes no sense that Yoon’s manipulation by the fascist government to persist under the anti-insurrection regime, especially as his history of insurrection comes to light.”
She added, “Since the regime has changed, shouldn’t anti-democratic vicious laws be eliminated, and since a democratic regime has been established, shouldn’t the fascist organizations that were wielding fascist vicious laws be shut down?
“The crackdown on the PDP is a clear political crackdown and party crackdown,” said Han Myung-hee, formal chairperson of the PDP,” and we strongly demand an immediate end to the crackdown on the PDP and other democratic progressive forces initiated by the insurrection. The anti-democratic fascist law, the National Security Law, must be abolished. And it will must be abolished. That is the wish of the people who are the protagonists of the December Uprising, also remembered as the Struggle of Light.” she said.
The party members vigorously shouted slogans, “Stop the fascist crackdown on the constitutional party, PDP!”, “Abolish the anti-democratic fascist law, National Security Law!”.
The PDP also held a rally in front of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Security Investigation Division on July 7, and marched to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
