Present there were members of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, leading commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence and military and political officers of the large combined units of the KPA.

Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) — The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made a significant speech at a ceremony of awarding state commendations to the commanding officers and combatants of the overseas military operations units of the Korean People’s Army.

Generals, officers and soldiers,
My beloved comrades-in-arms,
The moment has come, for which our Party and government, together with the numerous families in this country that sent their dear sons to the battlefields, have waited so eagerly.
The whole country has waited for it.
It is also a moment, for which I have waited counting on my fingers.
As I see again at this meaningful ceremony the proud sons, the heroes of the country, who are a source of great pride for our state and for whom all the people have waited, I can hardly describe my feelings.
I extend heartfelt thanks and warm militant greetings to the commanding officers and combatants of the overseas military operations units, who fought bravely as befits Koreans and the Korean People’s Army under a hail of bullets and bombs in the do-or-die battles in the alien land and have returned home with dignity.
Comrades,
At the proposal of the Central Committee and Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea adopted a decree on awarding the title of Hero of the DPRK and other high commendations to the generals, officers and soldiers of our army who performed immortal feats in the overseas operations. I feel pleased to make the decree public here today.
These are the first commendations conferred on the combatants in the overseas operations, who are excellent sons of the Korean people and representatives of the great honour of their country.
Out of the desire to put forward in front of their country and fellow people the laudable heroes who have performed feats on the battlefields in the alien country in defence of the sacred prestige and dignity of their motherland and to make the whole country hold them in respect and esteem, the Central Committee of our Party has arranged a grand ceremony of awarding state commendations to them at its headquarters building.
These are special and valuable commendations the country and people confer on the honourable victors for their great feats that can be performed only in a bloody struggle.
You are entitled to enjoy this glory and the highest respect.
Since the day when I dispatched our special operations units overseas, I have frequently received reports on the course of their battles and have been deeply moved by the ennobling spirit, matchless bravery and invaluable sacrifice of our officers and soldiers. And I have been eager to award high commendations to all of them when they return home after fulfilling the missions entrusted to them.
As we are holding the first awarding ceremony today, I am reminded of the combatants who must be totally engaged in their tasks, even at this moment, true to the order of their motherland, as well as of the martyrs; and I am sorely sorry for failing to share this place of honour with all of them.
My heart aches and breaks as I am facing the reality in which I have no other alternative but to meet those, who dedicated their dear lives for the great victory and glory, by only seeing their photos on the memorial wall.
At the last moments of their lives of their own choice, they earned the most glorious eternity, leaving behind such feats and combat records as to be handed down through generations. My only thought is that how happy I would be if they shared this moment with me.
I have looked forward to hugging them warmly while every minute and every day wishing them safe and secure; I have been anxious to pin the Hero medal on their chests myself as they went through thick and thin with our glorious national flag in their bosoms. Now that all this is impossible, I feel really regretful.
As I am seeing the families of the fallen soldiers, I feel unspeakably sorry and chagrined for my failure to save the young lives, the invaluable sons they entrusted to us.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I express deep condolences to the families of the martyrs who laid down their precious lives in the overseas military operations, and propose a moment of silence praying for their eternity.
Our combatants in the war are all great men, great heroes and great patriots.
Through a staunch struggle and ennobling self-sacrifice, they performed great exploits to be etched in history for all eternity to bring lasting prosperity and strength to our country.
Kim Jong Un proudly said that the victory won by the combatants constitutes a great exploit that firmly defended the great honour of the Korean People’s Army, which must never be allowed to be stained, and provided a sure guarantee for the existence of our state and its development, a victory worth being recorded as a miracle in the history of our army building and in the chronicles of anti-imperialist revolutionary struggle, and at the same time, an epochal event in the world history of wars, which reformulated the thousands-of-years-old logic of the strong.
Stressing that the combat actions, which the overseas operations units, representing the armed forces of our Republic, carried out on the battlefields in the limelight of the world, fully demonstrated the mightiness of the heroic Korean People’s Army whose invincibility is based on the definite superiority of the ideological and spiritual preparedness and the Juche-oriented strategy and tactics, he continued:
What I prioritize and appreciate with satisfaction before anything else is the fact that the prestige of the ever-victorious Korean People’s Army has been verified most rigorously in its history of over 70 years, and that the true picture of our army fully prepared for war has been clearly confirmed.
The key to effectively coping with possible war and guaranteeing victory in it is to break the enemy’s will to fight it.
Now it has become an established theory that the army of any country will be doomed to death and ruin if they fight against our army.
It can be said that though you fought on the alien land and held trenches outside our territory, you have built high walls for the defence of your country.
In this sense, you have performed feats more precious and priceless than the victory in a war we might have fought on this land.
Today’s ceremony is an expression of gratitude and high praise of our Party, state and people for your historic feats of having carried out perfectly the political decision of the Party and the government for the destiny and future of the country and safeguarded the great honour maintained by all the generations of the Republic for decades.
Comrades,
The traces of fierce battles in the liberated region of the alien land where bullets and bombs showered will disappear and everything will change in the near future, but the memories of the outstanding valour and noble self-sacrificing spirit displayed by our service personnel will be neither erased nor buried in oblivion.
Their greatness and immortality are vividly enshrined on this land thousands of miles away from the hard-fought battlefields.
I greatly revere the spiritual world of you comrades who contributed to liberating the Kursk region, because the ennobling fighting spirit of heroes, which we have put forward so far, has become that of all the service personnel of the overseas operations units.
The heroism displayed by the service personnel of our overseas operations units gave rise to the feelings of both admiration and apprehension in many countries, and it was not confined to some specific performers of feats.
The overseas military operations produced a great number of heroes, all surpassing Ri Su Bok, Kang Ho Yong and Jo Kun Sil.
To be frank, the number took me by surprise, before anybody elsewhere in the world.
Our service personnel, be they military, political and medical officers, interpreters and even supply service soldiers, fought bravely, and all of them shared mind and purpose with one another under whatever circumstances.
They fought heroically and self-sacrificingly, irrespective of rank, age, career or exploit.
It was around the age of 18 that soldiers blocked the enemy’s gun muzzles with their chests. Contrary to this general belief, it was the officers in their thirties and forties who did so in the battles. Some, though aware that no remains of themselves would be left, unhesitatingly chose to blow themselves up, and some others shielded their superior officers with their bodies to protect them from bullets. I was strongly impressed by these facts.
Please look at that memorial wall in this hall of the Party Central Committee building.
These numerous officers, so stout and good-looking, stood in the vanguard and died a heroic death.
They deserve to be called model heroes, and the overseas operations units, heroic units.
The deeds of the individual heroes, which we put forward as paragons in the past, have now developed into a mass-based movement.
Countrywide, 600 or so holders of the title of Hero were produced during the three-year-long war of over seven decades ago, whereas, during the overseas military operations launched by the armed forces of our Republic, all the service personnel of an entire army group performed heroic exploits in a little more than six months.
The secret to victory in the recent overseas military operations lies not in the exploits performed by some outstanding military commanders or heroes, but entirely in the mass character of heroism and the spiritual and moral traits, both ennobling and beautiful, which definitely dominated the thoughts and feelings of all the service personnel of the overseas operations units.
They were thoroughgoing in implementing the orders from their superiors, as they ought to be as soldiers, and every one of them cherished a high sense of patriotism, loved their comrades-in-arms so ardently and was strong in the spirit of devotion. They were all excellent in terms of morality, performing their duties with credit and choosing to act honourably as dictated by their conscience, even when they were facing death.
Witnessing such exceptional, unique traits of yours, the world has come to realize why our army is so powerful and what the key factor is in guaranteeing its victory in whatever battle it engages in.
This is a landmark event in which the concept of a powerful army and the law of war victory have been clearly inscribed in the annals of the times and history.
I say this with certainty.
Whichever unit of our Army was to fight in the recent war and whichever arm it might belong to, its service personnel would have fought as bravely as you did and performed feats on a par with your heroic exploits.
I am most pleased and satisfied that, through you, I have reconfirmed the degree our service personnel’s spiritual and moral qualities have reached. Having such an army as the pioneer and defender of their revolutionary cause is a source of pride and honour for the Workers’ Party of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
As it has always done, in the present era, too, our army is adding lustre to its honourable appellation as a symbol of the heroic Korean people, as a representative of the great Korean people.
The country defended by this heroic army will remain powerful forever, and the cause advancing forward with such an army standing in the vanguard will be ever-victorious.
As it hardens such conviction, today’s ceremony is particularly significant and weighty.
At this meaningful ceremony, I, on behalf of the Party and the government, once again extend heartfelt thanks and militant salute to the officers and soldiers of the overseas operations units, who have demonstrated the great honour of the Korean People’s Army by living up to the Party’s and motherland’s trust in it, displaying unprecedentedly heroic fighting spirit and performing undying feats in the fierce flames of battles.
And availing myself of this opportunity, I would like to tell our brave combatants what I have repeated hundreds of times in my mind.
As it is defended by you and other heroic soldiers, this country is formidable.

Our Party will surely find out all the feats the combatants of the overseas operations units performed at the cost of their blood in every decisive battlefield in the alien land and proudly show them to their parents, wives and children and to the country, people and posterity.
We will tell the people, the KPA officers and soldiers, their sons and daughters and other children all those precious combat experiences you gained in the bloody struggle, your genuine camaraderie and absolute love for your motherland, the heartbreaking sacrifices you had to endure shedding tears of blood, your delight in winning invaluable victory at such a cost, and your beautiful life filled with optimism about a bright future.
In a prominent part of the capital city, a combat feats memorial museum and a monument to combat feats will be erected to hand down the great feats performed by the combatants, and the whole country will respect and learn from the heroes’ noble soul and mettle for all eternity.
The motherland will confer the highest and most brilliant honour on all the officers and soldiers of the overseas operations units and at the same time bring all the glory to their parents who raised their children well and readily sent them to the scared war for the country.
Today’s ceremony is the beginning of these all.
The glorious path pioneered by the combatants at the cost of their blood on the battlefields in the alien land and the ennobling lives of the martyrs will not come to an end. The blood-stained combat records inscribed with their names will shine their eternal brilliance in the most precious pages of the history of the country.

Frustrating all challenges that threaten the sovereignty and security of the state and providing a firm military guarantee for its peace and development is the invariable mission of our revolutionary armed forces.
Now in the international arena, very serious and unpredictable security crises are being created by excessive use of military force by the fanatical forces buoyed by war fever, and our enemy states are becoming ever more undisguised in their dangerous attempt to undermine the prestige and superiority of our state which is maintaining the balance of the security situation in and around the Korean peninsula.
This environment leaves us no room for feeling at ease, and it demands that our army maintain a higher level of perfect and overwhelming preparedness.
Kim Jong Un advanced important tasks for developing the armed forces of the Republic into an elite and strong army and winding up its war preparedness to cope with the prevailing situation and the military provocations by the enemy states.
He said that officers and soldiers of the overseas operations units who are still performing their honourable combat missions in the alien land should keep in mind that their beloved parents, wives and children and their motherland are waiting for the day when they will come back in good health, and continued:
Our state will remain dignified, powerful and strong forever as it has such great heroes as you.
Our army will carry forward the great history of war victory for all ages by displaying its unique loyalty and heroic mettle.
I wish immortal glory to the heroic officers and soldiers of the overseas operations units who have elevated our people’s long history of victory and the absolute strength of our revolutionary armed forces to the highest and most glorious plane.

Ha llegado el momento que nuestro Partido y Gobierno han venido esperando con tanta ansiedad, al igual que las numerosas familias del país que enviaron a sus amados hijos al campo de batalla.
Todo el país lo ha esperado.
Yo mismo he anhelado el devenir de este instante, contando los días con los dedos de la mano.
No sabría cómo expresar lo que siento en este significativo reencuentro con los admirables hijos y héroes del país, que son el orgullo incomparable de nuestro Estado y a quienes ha esperado el pueblo entero.
Extiendo mi sincero agradecimiento y mis más fervorosos saludos militantes a los oficiales y combatientes de las unidades de operaciones en el exterior quienes arriesgando la vida bajo la lluvia de balas lucharon valerosamente como dignos “coreanos” y “militares del Ejército Popular de Corea” y regresaron con la frente alta como portadores del gran honor y destacadas hazañas para la patria.

Me complace que hoy publique en este lugar un decreto del Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema de la República Popular Democrática de Corea, según la propuesta del Comité Central y la Comisión Militar Central del Partido del Trabajo de Corea de conferir el título de Héroe de la República y otras altas condecoraciones a los generales, oficiales y soldados de nuestro ejército que realizaron hazañas perdurables en las operaciones en el extranjero.
Esta constituye la primera condecoración a los participantes en las operaciones en el exterior, hijos excelentes del pueblo coreano y representantes del gran honor de la patria.
Con el deseo de enaltecer ante la patria y el pueblo a los admirables héroes que protagonizaron proezas militares en tierras foráneas en defensa del soberano prestigio y dignidad del Estado y de lograr que todo el país los venere y ensalce, organizamos con solemnidad para ustedes esta ceremonia de condecoración estatal en la sede del Comité Central del Partido.
Estamos hablando de una condecoración especial y valiosa que la patria y el pueblo entregan a los honorables vencedores que han hecho grandes méritos que pueden hacer solamente en la lucha sangrienta.
Ustedes merecen esa gloria y el máximo respeto.
Cada vez que me informaban del curso de las acciones militares de nuestras unidades de operaciones especiales después de su envío al extranjero, me sentí profundamente emocionado por el espíritu noble, el coraje sin igual y el gran sacrificio de nuestros oficiales y soldados. Me vi impelido a otorgarles altas condecoraciones una vez que se repatriaran tras cumplir la misión asignada a ellos.
Ahora que realizamos la primera ceremonia de condecoración, evoco a los combatientes consagrados al cumplimiento de la misión en fiel acato a la orden de la patria y a los mártires caídos y me apena indescriptiblemente no poder compartir con ellos este lugar glorioso.
Me produce un dolor desgarrador esta realidad en que no pueda ver más que en las fotos de esta pared de recordación las excelsas imágenes de los que dieron su preciosa vida en aras de la gran victoria y gloria.
Lo único que pienso es qué bueno sería si estuvieran presentes aquí aquellos hombres que en los últimos y brillantes momentos que ellos mismos eligieron conocieron la gloria de la eternidad y dejaron para la historia hazañas y registros memorables.
¡Qué injusto no poder hacer realidad el sueño de abrazar cordialmente a todos esos compañeros a quienes deseábamos cada día e instante que estuvieran sanos y salvos y de colocar la medalla de héroe en sus pechos en que guardaban la gloriosa bandera nacional mientras se abrían paso por entre las llamas!
¿Cómo explicar a los familiares de los soldados caídos la gran angustia y lástima que sentimos por no haber podido proteger a sus valiosos hijos, con una juventud rebosante, cuyas vidas nos habían confiado?
Aprovechando esta ocasión, quisiera expresar nuestro más sentido pésame a los familiares de los que dieron su preciosa vida en las operaciones militares en el extranjero y propongo guardar un minuto de silencio deseando que perduren en la memoria de todos nosotros.
Los participantes en esas operaciones son todos grandes hombres, grandes héroes y grandes patriotas.
Con su lucha consecuente y sacrificio noble, han realizado hazañas sobresalientes y perpetuas en aras de la eterna prosperidad y poderío de la patria.
El camarada Kim Jong Un dijo con gran orgullo que su victoria constituye una enorme hazaña con que defendieron con firmeza el gran honor del Ejército Popular de Corea que jamás se puede mancillar y dieron garantía total a la existencia y desarrollo de nuestro Estado, un milagro que se registrará en la historia de la construcción de nuestro ejército y la lucha revolucionaria antiimperialista, así como un acontecimiento en la historia de las guerras del mundo que ha modificado la milenaria lógica del más fuerte.
Las acciones de las unidades que representan las fuerzas armadas de nuestra República en el escenario de batallas, foco de la atención del mundo, demostraron sin reservas el poderío del heroico Ejército Popular de Corea que logra victoria tras victoria con una innegable superioridad ideológica, espiritual y de su original estrategia y tácticas, señaló el camarada Kim Jong Un y continuó:
Concedo mayor importancia y aprecio con satisfacción el hecho de que el prestigio del invencible Ejército Popular de Corea se ha sometido a la prueba más rigurosa en sus más de 70 años de historia y que se ha evidenciado su plena preparación para la guerra.
La clave del indudable enfrentamiento a la guerra y del aseguramiento de la victoria es privar al enemigo de la voluntad de guerra.
Ahora se ha dado por sentado que cualquier ejército extranjero que se enfrente con el nuestro está condenado a la derrota.
Aunque ustedes lidiaron en tierras extrañas y sus trincheras estaban más allá de nuestro territorio, podemos afirmar que levantaron alto la muralla de la defensa en el territorio patrio.
En este sentido, sus proezas son más valiosas que las que realizan con la victoria en la guerra desencadenada en nuestro territorio.
El acto de hoy constituye la expresión de gratitud y la alta evaluación de nuestro Partido, Estado y pueblo a la gesta histórica de quienes ejecutaron cabalmente la determinación política tomada por el Partido y el Gobierno para el destino y futuro de la patria y preservaron el gran honor mantenido durante decenios por todas las generaciones anteriores de la República.
Compañeros:
En las zonas liberadas del país extranjero donde antes detonaban los fusiles y cañones, desaparecerán las huellas de las batallas enconadas y todo cambiará en un futuro cercano. Sin embargo, el descollante heroísmo y noble abnegación de nuestros militares no se borrarán ni se olvidarán.
Su grandeza y eternidad están patentes en el territorio patrio, a decenas de miles de ríes (un ri equivale a 0,4 km-N. del Tr.) de los campos de batalla.
Rememoramos con profundo respeto el mundo espiritual de quienes contribuyeron a la liberación del territorio de Kursk, pues el noble espíritu de lucha de los héroes que venimos subrayando se ha convertido en el de todos los integrantes de las unidades de operaciones en el extranjero.
Su heroísmo que motivó tanto la envidia como la inquietud en diferentes países no se puso de manifiesto por un número limitado de acreedores de mérito específicos.
En las referidas operaciones surgieron cientos y miles de héroes que superan a Ri Su Bok, Kang Ho Yong y Jo Kun Sil.
Francamente dicho, esto me asombró primero a mí antes que al mundo.
Todos sin excepción, oficiales militares, funcionarios políticos, médicos, intérpretes y auxiliares, lucharon valerosamente en cualquier circunstancia, con la misma imagen y postura.
En el heroísmo y el sacrificio que manifestaron no ha habido límites de cargo, edad, currículum vitae y méritos.
Por encima del concepto común de que a los 18 años se cubre con el cuerpo la aspillera enemiga, fueron los oficiales de más de 30 y 40 años los primeros en cubrirla. Optaron sin vacilación por el suicidio con la bomba y de las balas mortales protegieron con el cuerpo a su comandante. Estos hechos me impactaron fuertemente.
Miren la pared de recordación levantada aquí en el salón del Comité Central del Partido.
Numerosos oficiales nuestros, viriles y elegantes como pueden apreciar, se inmolaron a porfía y cayeron heroicamente.
Son, indudablemente, héroes de los héroes, y deberíamos calificar de heroicas a las unidades de operaciones en el exterior.
Las acciones de los héroes individuales que antes tomamos como ejemplos han engendrado hoy un movimiento de masas.
Durante los tres años de la guerra desatada hace más de 70 años surgieron unos 600 héroes a escala nacional y en la última operación militar en el extranjero desarrollada con resolución por las fuerzas armadas de nuestra República un cuerpo entero protagonizó hazañas heroicas en poco más de 6 meses.
La clave fundamental del fin victorioso de esta operación no radica en la proeza de unos contados estrategas o héroes destacados, sino, en el estricto sentido de la palabra, en el heroísmo de carácter masivo y en los nobles y hermosos rasgos espirituales y morales que predominan en las ideas y sentimientos de todos los oficiales y soldados de las unidades de operaciones en ultramar.
Como un solo hombre son cabales en el cumplimiento de la orden, misión principal de soldado, aman con fervor a la patria y al compañero, son abnegados y fieles a su obligación aun en los últimos momentos de la vida y también poseen una elevada moral, tomando opciones dignas de su conciencia.
Con estas extraordinarias cualidades espirituales le han enseñado al mundo por qué es fuerte nuestro ejército y cuál es el factor principal de su victoria infalible en cualquier batalla.
Esto constituye un acontecimiento que constata a la época y la historia el concepto de ejército poderoso y la ley de la victoria en el combate.
Estoy seguro de que cualquier otra arma y unidad de nuestro ejército habrán combatido como ustedes en esta guerra y realizado méritos equivalentes a los de ustedes.
Me complacen y satisfacen como nunca antes las elevadas cualidades espirituales y morales de los oficiales y soldados de todo el ejército. Contar con tal ejército como precursor y defensor de nuestra causa revolucionaria es el orgullo y gloria del Partido del Trabajo de Corea y el Gobierno de la República Popular Democrática de Corea.
Como antes, en la época actual nuestro ejército sigue haciendo gala de su nombre honorable de símbolo del heroico pueblo coreano y representante del gran pueblo coreano.
Un país defendido por un heroico ejército será siempre poderoso y una causa que avanza con tal ejército en la vanguardia saldrá siempre victoriosa.
Esta certidumbre concede especial significación e importancia a la presente ceremonia.
Aprovechando esta oportunidad, extiendo una vez más mi sincero agradecimiento y saludos militantes, en nombre del Partido y el Gobierno, a todos los oficiales y soldados de las unidades de operaciones en el exterior, quienes en la contienda encarnizada han correspondido a la confianza del Partido y la Patria en nuestro ejército y han engrandecido su honor con inaudito espíritu de lucha heroica y méritos perdurables.
Aprovecho esta oportunidad para decir a nuestros dignos participantes en la guerra lo que quería decirles diez y cien veces.
Este país es irreductible gracias a ustedes, soldados heroicos que lo defienden.
Compañeros:
Nuestro Partido verificará todas las hazañas que los combatientes de las unidades de operaciones en el exterior grabaron con su sangre en los campos de combate y las dará a conocer a sus padres, esposas e hijos, el Estado, el pueblo y las nuevas generaciones.
Transmitiremos al pie de la letra al pueblo, a los militares del Ejército Popular, a sus hijos y las jóvenes generaciones las valiosas experiencias que adquirieron en el combate ensangrentado, su auténtico compañerismo, su amor incondicional a la patria, el júbilo de la victoria que lograron con el dolor del sacrificio y a cambio de este que debían soportar llorando con lágrimas de sangre y sus vidas hermosas llenas de optimismo en el porvenir.
En una parte de la capital se construirán un museo y un monumento conmemorativos de las memorables proezas de los grandes participantes en la guerra y todo el pueblo venerará y aprenderá para siempre el noble espíritu e ímpetu de los héroes.
La patria madre honrará como a nadie al conjunto de los oficiales y soldados de las unidades de operaciones en el exterior e igualmente glorificará a los padres que criaron magníficamente a sus hijos y los enviaron sin titubeos a la sagrada guerra por el bien de la patria.
Todo comienza con la actual ceremonia.
El camino glorioso allanado por la sangre de los combatientes en tierras foráneas y la noble vida de los mártires no conocen el fin. Las notas de los combates ensangrentados con sus nombres perdurarán como páginas exclusivas de la historia nacional.
Compañeros:
Controlar todos los retos que atentan contra la soberanía y la seguridad del Estado y garantizar firmemente en lo militar la paz y el desarrollo es la invariable misión de nuestras fuerzas armadas revolucionarias.
Ahora, en la palestra internacional se ha creado la muy grave e imprevisible crisis de seguridad por el abuso de la fuerza militar de los fanáticos de la guerra. Los países enemigos exteriorizan cada vez más el intento peligroso de socavar a toda costa la posición y la superioridad de nuestro Estado que equilibra la situación de seguridad en la región de la Península Coreana.
Esta circunstancia no nos permite un momento de descuido y demanda que sea cabal y preponderante el enfrentamiento de nuestro ejército.
El camarada Kim Jong Un aclaró las importantes tareas para convertir las fuerzas armadas de la República en tropas élite y más poderosas y perfeccionar los preparativos de la guerra, frente a la situación actual y las provocaciones militares de los países enemigos.
A los oficiales y soldados de las unidades de operaciones en el extranjero que en este momento siguen cumpliendo su honrosa misión les recuerdo que tengan bien presente que sus amados padres, esposas e hijos y la patria esperan ansiosamente su retorno con buena salud, dijo y continuó:
Nuestro Estado será para siempre digno, poderoso y fuerte por contar con grandes héroes como ustedes.
Nuestro ejército continuará eternamente su gran historia de victorias en las guerras demostrando su típica fidelidad e ímpetu heroico.
Mis votos de eterna gloria para los heroicos oficiales y soldados de las unidades de operaciones en el extranjero que han colocado en la altura suprema la larga historia de victoria de nuestro pueblo y la superioridad absoluta de las fuerzas armadas revolucionarias.

Пхеньян, 22 августа. /ЦТАК/– Уважаемый товарищ Ким Чен Ын выступил со знаменательной речью на церемонии вручения государственных наград командирам и бойцам зарубежных операционных войск КНА.

Товарищи!
Генералы, офицеры и солдаты!
Любимые мои бойцы!
Так наступил час, которого наша партия и наше правительство ожидали с нетерпением вместе со многими семьями этой страны, отправившими своих дорогих сыновей на поле боя.
Вся страна ждала.
Это – долгожданная минута, которой я тоже с нетерпением ждал, считая дни по пальцам.
Не знаю, какими словами выразить эту радость – в таком знаменательном месте вновь встретиться с огромными гордостями нашего государства, славными сынами и героями страны, которых ждет весь народ.
Позвольте передать сердечную благодарность и самый теплый боевой привет командирам и бойцам войск зарубежной операции, которые и на чужбине под шквальным огнем, где решается жизнь и смерть, доблестно воевали, как подобает «корейцам», «воинам Корейской Народной Армии», и достойно возвратились домой, защитив великую честь Родины и совершив славные беспримерные подвиги.
Товарищи!
Я рад тому, что сегодня на этом месте мне выпала честь обнародовать принятое по предложению ЦК и ЦВК ТПК постановление Президиума ВНС КНДР о присвоении звания Героя КНДР и вручении наград высшей степени генералам, офицерам и солдатам нашей армии, совершившим бессмертные подвиги в зарубежной военной операции.
Это служит первой наградой в адрес участников зарубежной операции – лучших сынов корейского народа, представителей великой чести Отечества.
ЦК нашей партии хотел высоко представить перед лицом Родины и народа славных героев, совершивших подвиги в поле боя на чужбине за священный авторитет и достоинство государства, и решил торжественно организовать в своей штаб-квартире церемонию вручения государственных наград вам, товарищи, для того, чтобы вся страна высоко уважала и восхваляла вас.
Это означает специальную, высочайшую награду Родины и народа в адрес славных победителей, совершивших великие подвиги, которые невозможно приобрести без кровопролитной борьбы.
Вы, естественно, имеете право увенчаться такой славой и пользоваться наивысшим почтением.
С тех пор, как наши войска специальной операции направились за границу, в любое время получая рапорты о ходе боев, я глубоко волновался от благородного духа, беспримерного мужества и дорогой жертвы наших офицеров и солдат и про себя торопился высоко наградить всех, когда они вернутся на Родину, исполнив порученные задания.
Сегодня на этом месте, когда проходит первая церемония вручения наград, перед моими глазами встают лица бойцов, которые и в этот миг отдаются выполнению боевых заданий, преданные приказам Родины, и погибли в боях, и просто не могу сдержать сожаления от того, что не приветствую их всех на этом славном месте.
Мне так больно и горько в душе перед реалией, когда только на фото встречаюсь с бесценными бойцами, отдавшими дорогую жизнь за великую победу и славу.
Только думаю, как хорошо было бы, если бы на этом месте вместе с нами были они, которым далась самая славная бессмертная жизнь в последние минуты жизни, выбранные ими самими, за что оставили на скрижалях истории Родины следы блестящих подвигов и биографию как наследство грядущим поколениям.
Мне так хотелось бы тепло обнимать всех тех, которым каждый день, каждую минуту желал только благополучия, и прикрепить медали героя к груди им, которые со славным государственным флагом за пазухой прошли сквозь огонь. А очень досадно, что нельзя сделать так.
Стоя перед членами семей погибших воинов, просто не знаю, как выразить свое сожаление и извинение за то, что не успел сохранить доверенных нам их дорогих сыновей – пока еще совсем молодых.
Пользуясь этим случаем, выражаю сердечное соболезнование членам семей павших патриотов, которые отдали свою дорогую жизнь в зарубежной военной операции, и предлагаю всем почтить их память, желая им бессмертия.
Все наши участники войны – великие люди, великие герои, великие патриоты.
Во имя вечного процветания и могущества Родины участники зарубежной операции своей стойкой борьбой и ценою благородных жертв совершили великие заслуги, которые будут вписаны золотыми буквами в историю Родины.
Товарищ Ким Чен Ын с гордостью сказал, что победа доблестных участников войны послужит огромной заслугой, дающей надежно отстоять великую честь Корейской Народной Армии, что никак не надлежит дискредитации, и создать твердую гарантию для существования и развития нашего государства. Она является победой, которая может вписаться чудом в историю строительства нашей армии, в историю антиимпериалистической революционной борьбы и, одновременно, событием в мировой истории войны, которое дало новое определение доктрине сильнейших, передаваемой тысячелетиями.
Товарищ Ким Чен Ын отметил, что боевая деятельность войск зарубежной операции, представивших вооруженные силы нашей Республики на поле боя, оказавшемся в фокусе мирового внимания, без остатка доказала мощь героической КНА, одерживающей победу за победой очевидным превосходством идейно-духовных качеств, чучхейской стратегии и тактики. И он продолжает:
То, чему я придаю самое большое значение и даю удовлетворительную оценку, – именно в том, что слава непобедимой КНА прошла самую строгую проверку в более 70-летней своей истории, и ярко подтверждено реальное состояние нашей армии, находящейся в полной готовности к войне.
Самое важное в полной подготовке к войне и обеспечении гарантии победы в ней – это сломить волю противника вести войну.
Теперь признанным фактом стало то, что армия любой страны не избежит полного поражения в столкновении с нашей армией.
Хотя вы воевали на чужбине, и ваши окопы находились за пределами нашей территории, зато, можно сказать, высоко возвели барьер защиты на земле Родины.
В таком смысле подвиги, совершенные вами, дороже и бесценнее победы, достигнутой в войне на нашей земле.
Сегодняшняя церемония вручения наград – выражение благодарности и высокая оценка нашей партии, государства и народа к историческому событию, приведшему к полноценному исполнению политического решения, принятого партией и правительством во имя судьбы и будущего Родины, и отстаиванию великой чести, за что боролись все поколения Республики на протяжении десятков лет.
Товарищи!
В освобожденных районах чужбины, где летали шальные пули и взрывались снаряды, исчезнут следы ожесточенных боев и скоро изменится все, но память о необычайном героизме и благородной самоотверженности наших офицеров и солдат не будет предан стиранию и забвению.
То величие и бессмертность живо запечатлены здесь, на родной земле, отдаленной в тысячи километров от поля ожесточенных битв.
С благоговейным чувством напоминаю о вашем духовном мире, внесшем вклад в освобождение территории Курской области, потому что высокий боевой дух героев, который мы восхваляем доныне, принадлежит всем офицерам и солдатам войск зарубежной операции.
Героизм офицеров и солдат наших войск зарубежной операции вызвал во многих странах зависть и в то же время тревогу. Он отнюдь не сводился только к некоторым особым бойцам, кто имеет боевые подвиги.
В ходе зарубежной военной операции вышли сотни и тысячи героев, превзошедшие Ли Су Бока, Кан Хо Ёна и Чо Гун Сира.
Честно говоря, я сам поразился первым, прежде чем удивляется мир.
Все военные командиры, политработники, военврачи, переводчики и снабженцы – кем бы они ни были, при любых обстоятельствах храбро сражались одними и теми манерами.
В проявленном героизме и самоотверженности не было границы по должностям и возрастам, они и независимы от биографий и прежних заслуг.
Превышая прежнее традиционное понятие, что вражескую амбразуру закрывает только молодой в 18-летнем возрасте, офицеры 30- и 40-летнего возраста впереди всех заслоняли грудью вражеские амбразуры и не колебались взорвать себя, не оставив тела, а солдаты, не щадя своей жизни, прикрывали своих командиров от вражеских пуль. Такие же факты сильно потрясли меня.

Какие красавцы! Как многие наши офицеры наперебой жертвовали своей жизнью и пали смертью храбрых!
Они по праву являются героями из героев, и войска зарубежной операции вполне заслуживают звания героического отряда.
Поступки отдельных героев, которые в прошлом мы считали примерами подражания, сегодня превратились в массовое движение.
Если в трехлетней войне более 70-летней давности в стране вышло более 600 героев, то в зарубежной военной операции, решительно проведенной вооруженными силами нашей Республики, за 6 с лишним месяцев все бойцы целой армии совершали героические подвиги.
Главный секрет победного завершения этой зарубежной операции кроется не в заслугах некоторых необычайных военных стратегов или героев, а именно в массовом характере героизма, в том, что благородный и прекрасный морально-духовный настрой воцарился во всех войсках зарубежной операции как крепкая мысль и чувство всех офицеров и солдат.
Все было одинаково прекрасно: и в плане безукоризненности выполнения приказов, что является основной миссией воина, и в аспекте чувства любви к Родине и соратникам и самоотверженности, и с точки зрения морали. Даже в последние минуты жизни воины оставались верны своему долгу и умели делать выбор, достойный своей совести.
Вы, проявив подобные беспримерные духовные качества, дали всему миру понять, чем сильна наша армия и в чем главный секрет непременной победы в любом бою.
Это является своего рода событием, которое ярко запечатлело понятие сильной армии и закономерность победы на скрижалях времени и истории.
Я уверен.
Если бы в этой войне участвовал любой род войск, любая часть нашей армии, то они тоже сражались бы, как вы, и совершили бы беспримерные подвиги в боях, достойные быть наравне с вашими героическими подвигами.
Больше всего меня радует и доставляет мне удовольствие то, что через вас я еще раз подтвердил, на каком высоком уровне находится морально-духовный настрой военнослужащих всей армии. Иметь в такой армии первооткрывателя и защитника своего революционного дела – это гордость и честь ТПК и правительства КНДР.
Как всегда, и в наше время наша армия прославляет свое почетное звание как символа героического корейского народа, представителя великого корейского народа.
Страна, защищаемая героической армией, навсегда остается могущественной, и великое дело, которое героическая армия в авангарде продвигает вперед, непобедимо.
Особое значение и вес сегодняшней церемонии вручения наград – именно в том, что она более укрепляет такую уверенность.
На этом знаменательном месте от имени партии и правительства я еще раз выражаю сердечную благодарность и передаю боевой привет воинам войск зарубежной операции, которые в огне ожесточенного боя оправдали доверие партии и Родины к своей армии и высоко прославляли великую честь КНА беспрецедентным героическим боевым духом и бессмертными подвигами.
И пользуясь этим случаем, мне бы хотелось сказать нашим отважным воинам-участникам войны то, что я повторял про себя десять и сто раз.
Эта страна нерушима благодаря вам, товарищи, благодаря тому, что ее защищают такие воины-герои, как вы.
Товарищи!
Наша партия будет находить все без исключения подвиги, совершенные за счет своей алой крови воинами войск зарубежной операции в ожесточенных боях чужбины, и высоко оценить перед родителями, женами и детьми, перед государством и народом, перед грядущими поколениями.
Мы без прикрас расскажем обо всем народу, военнослужащим Народной Армии, и их детям и потомкам: о дорогом боевом опыте, приобретенном в ходе кровопролитной борьбы, о настоящей любви к соратникам и абсолютной любви к Родине, о боли от жертвы, которую приходилось терпеть с кровавыми слезами, радости от дорогой победы, достигнутой бесценной той жертвой, а также о красивой жизни, полной надежды на будущее и оптимизма.
В уютном месте столицы будут воздвигнуты музей и памятник боевым подвигам, чтобы из века в век передавать подвиги великих участников войны, а вся страна навсегда будет с благоговейным чувством кланяться благородному духу и воле героев и учиться у них.
Родина-мать будет воздавать высочайшую и славную честь всем офицерам и солдатам войск зарубежной операции. Вместе с тем, она будет поднимать на пьедестал славы и родителей, воспитавших и без колебаний отдавших своих лучших сыновей священной войне во имя страны.
Сегодняшняя церемония вручения наград – только начало ко всему этому.
Бессмертна благородная жизнь погибших патриотов, проложивших славный путь ценой крови в боях чужбины, а кровавые боевые записи с их именами войдут в историю нашей Родины самыми бесценными страницами.
Товарищи!
Сорвать всякие вызовы, угрожающие суверенитету и безопасности государства, и надежно гарантировать его мир и развитие в военном отношении, – такова неизменная миссия наших революционных вооруженных сил.
В настоящее время на международной арене из-за чрезмерного применения военной силы фанатиками, зараженными лихорадкой войны, складывается весьма серьезная и непредсказуемая ситуация для безопасности, и наши вражеские страны более открыто обнажают опасные намерения разрушить статус и могущество нашего государства, балансирующего безопасную ситуацию в регионе Корейского полуострова.
Такая обстановка не дает нам никакого основания быть равнодушными, а требует от нашей армии более полноценного и превосходного противоборства.
Товарищ Ким Чен Ын осветил важные задачи, которыми следует руководствоваться в деле превращения вооруженных сил Республики в наиболее отборный и могущественный отряд и совершенствовании подготовки к войне в условиях сложившейся ситуации и военных провокаций вражеских стран.
И сейчас в это время, продолжает он, на чужбине офицеры и солдаты войск зарубежной операции выполняют почетное боевое задание, и я желаю, чтобы они крепко запомнили, что любимые родители, жены и дети и Родина с нетерпением ждут их триумфального возвращения домой.
Благодаря таким великим героям, как вы, товарищи, наше государство навсегда останется достойным, могучим и сильным.
История великой победы будет продолжаться на веки веков благодаря преданности и героическому духу, присущим нашей армии.
Бессмертная слава героическим воинам войск зарубежной операции, возведшим длительную историю победы нашего народа и абсолютное могущество революционных вооруженных сил в высшую степень апогея!

将领、军官和士兵们，
我亲爱的战友们：
我们党和政府同那些把心爱的子女送上战场的成千上万个家庭一起翘首以待的时刻，就这样终于盼来了。
全国人民都等待了这一时刻。
我也掰着手指头等待了这一时刻。
在如此有意义的场合，我再次见到了我们国家的莫大骄傲、全国人民等待已久的好儿子、国家的英雄。现在我非常激动，用任何语言难以形容。
我军海外作战部队指战员开赴异国，冒着枪林弹雨殊死决战。你们作为堂堂的“朝鲜人”“朝鲜人民军”英勇奋战，屡建殊勋，为祖国增了大光，载誉归来。我向你们表示由衷的感谢和最热烈的战斗敬意。
同志们：
朝鲜劳动党中央委员会和中央军事委员会提议，向在海外作战中建树不朽功绩的我军将领、军官和士兵授予共和国英雄称号和高级奖项。今天发表朝鲜民主主义人民共和国最高人民会议常任委员会根据上述提议通过的政令，我为此感到无比高兴。
这是对朝鲜人民的好儿子、祖国伟大荣誉的代表——海外作战参战者的首次嘉奖。
我们党中央为了当着祖国和人民的面高度表扬那些在异国战场上建立殊勋来捍卫我国神圣的权威与尊严的英雄们，为了让你们受到全国人民的尊敬和爱戴，决定在党中央委员会本部大楼隆重举行国家授奖仪式。

自从把我军特战部队派到海外的那天起，我每次收到有关作战过程的汇报，就对我们官兵的高洁精神、大无畏精神、高贵的牺牲深深感动。我心想等他们完成任务回到祖国就大大地庆功表彰，而焦急地等待着。
今天终于举行首次授勋仪式，我眼前就浮现出此时此刻也忠实于祖国的命令而坚决执行任务的战斗员和牺牲烈士的面容。令我尤为遗憾的是不能让他们也都来参加这一光荣的会合。
为了伟大胜利和光荣而献出宝贵生命的烈士们的高贵面容，只能在这追悼墙以照片相见，令人痛心不已。
他们在义无反顾地选择英勇牺牲的那一时刻就迎来了最光荣的永生，而且在青史上留下了值得代代传颂的殊勋和战绩。我想，他们和我们一起出席这一场合，那该多好。
之前，我每时每刻都切盼同志们安然无恙，想把他们热烈地拥抱，还想在怀着光荣的国旗赴汤蹈火的他们的胸前我亲手佩上英雄奖章，可是现在不能这样做，所以，不胜遗憾，心如刀割。
面对着牺牲的军人遗属，我真不知该如何表达未能保护好你们托付给我们的宝贵儿子、太年轻的生命的歉疚之感。
借此机会，我向参加海外军事作战并献出宝贵生命的烈士的家属深表抚慰之意。我提议，为祈愿烈士们的永生默哀。
我们的参战者都是伟大的人、伟大的英雄、伟大的爱国者。
海外作战参战者为了祖国无穷的繁荣和强盛，通过坚决的斗争和高洁的牺牲建树了彪炳千秋的伟大功勋。
金正恩同志自豪地说，参战勇士们所取得的胜利，是坚决维护决不能受损的朝鲜人民军的伟大名誉，是为我们国家存立和发展提供可靠保证的卓著功勋，是我国建军史和反帝革命斗争史上的奇迹般的胜利，同时是世界战争史上的大事件，因为它重新规定了沿袭数千年的强者道理。
金正恩同志还说，海外作战部队代表我们共和国武装力量，在举世瞩目的战场上进行战斗活动，充分证明了英雄的朝鲜人民军靠思想精神和主体战略战术的绝对优势百战百胜的威力。他接着说：
我最重视的、令我感到满意的是，朝鲜人民军百战百胜的名声得到了７０多年历史中最严格的验证，我们军队做好万般战备的实况也得到了确认。
切实应对战争和保证胜利的关键就是挫败敌人的战争意志。
到如今，不管是哪一个国家的军队，要是跟我国军队交战，就难免溃败，落得无主孤魂的下场，这一点已成定论。
虽然你们作战是在异国，战壕也在境外，但可以说，你们为祖国疆土筑起了高高的卫国城墙。
从这种意义上说，你们立下的功勋比在我国领土上进行战争而取得的胜利更为宝贵。
你们完美地落实党和政府为祖国的命运和未来做出的政治决策，维护了共和国各个年代人数十年来坚守的伟大名誉。今天的授勋仪式是我们党、国家和人民对这一历史性壮举致谢的表现、高度的评价。
同志们：
在那过去枪炮声震耳欲聋的异国解放区，激烈战斗的痕迹即将消失，一切都会改变，但是，我军官兵非凡的英勇精神和高洁的牺牲精神会在人们的记忆中永远抹不掉，也不会遗忘。
他们那伟大而不朽的精神化为光芒照射到离激烈战场几万里的祖国大地上。
我们之所以虔敬地表扬为解放库尔斯克做出贡献的你们的精神境界，是因为我们一直崇扬的英雄们崇高的斗争精神如今成为了海外作战部队全体官兵的精神。
我军海外作战部队官兵所发扬的英雄主义，令很多国家禁不住羡慕，同时感到畏惧，而这一英雄主义并不局限于几位特定的立功者。
在海外军事作战过程中涌现出了胜于李寿福、姜虎英、赵君实的数以千计的英雄。
全世界为之震撼，说实话，我个人更为震惊。
不管是军事指挥员、政治工作者、军医人员、翻译员或后勤工作者，无论在任何情况下，他们都保持一致，一模一样地英勇奋战。
他们的英雄精神和牺牲精神是与军衔、年龄、履历如何或有无战绩毫无关系的。
三四十岁的军官身先士卒，用胸膛堵住敌人的机枪口，打破了唯有十八岁青年才堵住敌人的机枪口这一普遍说法；有些人毫不犹豫地选择自爆阵亡，连遗体都没留下；还有些人挡住了向自己指挥员飞来的子弹。这些事实对我冲击很大。
请各位看看立在党中央委员会会馆里的追悼墙。
那些精明强干、英俊潇洒的我军军官争先恐后地从容就义，壮烈牺牲了。
他们是英雄之中的英雄，海外作战部队堪称“英雄部队”。
过去我们推崇为楷模的个别人的英雄事迹，如今已发展到群众性运动。
７０多年前在历时三年的战争期间，在全国范围内涌现出６００多名英雄，而我们共和国武装力量这次进行的海外军事作战中，仅在六个多月的时间里，整个军团都成了英雄的功勋者。
这次海外军事作战胜利结束，其根本秘诀不在于几位杰出的军事家或英雄的功勋，而完全在于集体英雄主义，还在于已成为海外作战部队全体官兵思想感情的崇高而美好的精神道德风范。
军人的本分——执行命令的彻底性、对祖国和战友的爱心和献身精神都一致，道德风貌也一样可嘉，在生命的最后时刻也忠实于自己的义务、敢于做出问心无愧的选择。
你们以这样非凡的精神特质让全世界都知道我们的军队究竟靠什么强大，战必克攻必取的根本原因是什么。
这是把强军的概念和胜战的规律清楚地镌刻在时代和历史的一件大事。
我可以肯定地说：
在这次战争中，无论我军的哪一兵种、哪一部队参加，也都会像你们那样战斗，会建立同你们创造的英雄功勋一样的武功。
通过你们，我再次确认了全军官兵的精神道德品质达到何等境界，这是最令我高兴和满意的。拥有这种军队作为革命事业的开拓者和维护者，这是朝鲜劳动党和朝鲜民主主义人民共和国政府的骄傲和光荣。
和往年一样，我们军队在现今时代也作为英雄的朝鲜人民的象征、伟大的朝鲜人民的代表，为其名称增光添彩。
由英雄军队保卫的国家是永远强大的，由英雄军队牵头的事业是战无不胜的。
今天的授奖仪式令人确信这一点，所以它具有特殊的意义和分量。
借此意义深远的机会，我代表党和政府再次向海外作战部队官兵致以由衷的感谢和战斗敬礼，表扬你们冒着枪林弹雨，英勇奋战，不辜负党和祖国对军队的信任，以前所未有的英勇战斗精神和不朽功勋彰显了朝鲜人民军的伟大名誉。
我还要把想对我们可靠的参战勇士们说、而且在心里念叨了几百遍的话，借这个机会倾诉出来。
因为有你们在，因为有你们这样英雄的军人捍卫着，所以我们国家是固若金汤的。
同志们：
我们党将一一找出海外作战部队战斗员在异国他乡的战场上以鲜血立下的战功，展现在他们的父母妻儿、国家、人民和后代面前。
我们将会给人民、人民军官兵、子女和后代一五一十地讲述你们通过浴血奋战所取得的一切：宝贵的战斗经验、真正的战友情、对祖国的绝对热爱、流着血泪忍受的牺牲之痛苦、以其为代价争取宝贵胜利的喜悦、展望未来充满乐观的美好生活等等。
在首都的某一地方将建立永远传颂伟大参战者功勋的战功纪念馆和战功纪念碑，全国人民将会永远虔敬对待和学习英雄们的崇高精神和气概。
母亲祖国会向海外作战部队全体官兵授予最高级、最光辉的荣誉，还会把出色培养子女，心甘情愿地让子女为祖国参加神圣战争的父母也送上光荣之巅。
今天的表彰仪式是那一切的开始而已。
勇士们在异国战场以鲜血开拓的光荣路程和烈士们高贵的一生并没有结束，记录着他们姓名的血染的战斗记录作为最辉煌的一页在祖国史册上永放光芒。
同志们：
制止和粉碎威胁国家主权与安全的一切挑战，从军事上可靠地保证和平与发展，这就是我国革命武装力量永恒不变的使命。
目前在国际舞台上，那些被战争狂热冲昏头脑、丧心病狂的势力过度地动用军事力量，从而造成非常严重而不可预测的安保危机。还有，敌对国家死心塌地地遏止我国维持朝鲜半岛地区安全平衡的地位与强势，他们的冒险企图变本加厉。
这样的环境不给我们放松的余地，反而要求我国军队做好更加彻底而压倒性的准备。
金正恩同志提出了针对当前局势和敌国的军事挑衅，共和国武装力量在实现最精锐化、最强军化以及完成战备方面要狠抓的一系列重大任务。
金正恩同志说，希望在这一时刻也在远离祖国的异国他乡执行光荣的战斗任务的海外作战部队官兵牢牢记住亲爱的父母妻儿和祖国屈指等待着他们平安无事地凯旋归来。他接着说：
由于拥有像你们这样伟大的英雄，我们国家将永远享有尊严，声威大震，强大无比。
我们军队将以自己特有的忠诚和英雄气概，千年万载续写伟大的战胜历史。
我祝愿，永垂不朽的光荣属于在我国人民长久的胜利史册上谱写最崇高最辉煌的篇章，彰显革命武装力量绝对威势的海外作战部队英雄官兵！
