The Communist Party of Venezuela of President Henry Parra said: the Venezuelan people must resist both US psychological warfare and internal division, rejecting any anti-national voices that serve imperial interests. After more than two decades of the Bolivarian Revolution, the people’s political consciousness has grown, making them less susceptible to manipulation. He warns that the most dangerous threat is when Venezuelan voices are used to undermine Chávez’s legitimacy. Aside from opposition figure María Corina, he insists that all Venezuelans should defend the nation rather than harm it.

We have been at war psychologically for years. Ever since Chávez declared himself a socialist. That is when a terrible war against our homeland began. A war to see how they could undermine the level of consciousness of our people. If in 2000 they were unable to go where Comrade Chávez went, when we had barely two years of revolution, now that we have 26 years of revolution, the levels of consciousness are greater, they are higher. In other words, our people are becoming more and more aware. This is also happening in our homeland. And what it allows us to do, well, it’s a matter of… I’ve already explained it. What it allows us to do is to have a Venezuelan voice present. Imagine. In other words, it can allow Chávez, who has many things, to say it as a Venezuelan. So we are not going to fight, we are not going to say anything about the same thing, about the same political thing, that we are not going to allow a Venezuelan to be, unless it is María Corina.

Tenemos años en guerra psicológica. Desde que Chávez se declaró socialista. Aquí comenzó una guerra terrible contra nuestra patria. Una guerra para ver cómo mermaban el nivel de conciencia de nuestro pueblo. Si en el 2000 no fue capaz de salir a donde se prendiera el camarada Chávez, cuando apenas teníamos dos años de revolución, ahora que tenemos 26 años de revolución, los niveles de conciencia son mayores, son más elevados. O sea, nuestro pueblo tiene más conciencia cada vez más. Lo que está sucediendo también en nuestra patria. Y lo que más puede permitir, pues, es decir, es cosa de… Ya lo he explicado. Lo que nos puede permitir es que una voz venezolana presente. Imagínense. O sea, puede permitir que Chávez, menos que tiene muchas cosas, a decirlo como es venezolano. Así es que nosotros no vamos a pelear, no vamos a decir nada de la misma, de la misma cosa política, que no vamos a permitir que sea un venezolano, a no ser que sea María Corina.
