Solidarity Protests in Support of Venezuela Held Across India on January 3

On January 3, solidarity protests in support of Venezuela were held in several regions across India. Organized with the participation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), along with trade unions and student and civic organizations, the demonstrations condemned U.S. sanctions and interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs, and called for respect for Venezuela’s sovereignty and right to self-determination.

Participants marched holding placards and banners bearing slogans such as “Down with U.S. imperialism!” “Hands off Venezuela!” “Release President Maduro immediately!” and “Solidarity with Venezuela!” emphasizing international solidarity with the Venezuelan people. In some areas, statements were read aloud and public speeches were delivered, criticizing the harmful impact of unilateral sanctions on the lives of ordinary people and demanding peaceful solutions and respect for international law.
