The US has hinted at the possibility of interfering in Iran’s internal affairs, including military intervention, regarding anti-government terrorist activities in the country.
Recently, President Donald Trump stated that if the Iranian regime kills its people, the US will strike Iran’s “most sensitive areas” very hard, adding that the US is ready to help.
The US State Department posted a video of an attack in Venezuela, issuing a stern warning: “Do not play games with President Trump. When he says he’ll do something, he means it.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also held a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the issue of “protests” in Iran.
The New York Times (NYT) reported that Trump was recently briefed on new options for a military strike against Iran. According to the report, while a final decision has not yet been made, he is seriously considering authorizing an attack in response to the Iranian regime’s efforts to suppress protests sparked by widespread economic grievances.
Previously, at the end of last year, following a meeting with Netanyahu, Trump vehemently declared that he would support an Israeli attack on Iran if it persisted with its nuclear and missile programs.
