Only one month after assuming the administration of the State, the Kast government has fallen victim to its own demagoguery and irresponsible simplification of major national problems. Within a single month, its support has plummeted to 41%, a surprising situation considering that, in the context of mandatory voting, Kast’s candidacy obtained 58% in the second round of elections last December.
The errors and incompetence of the team were exposed during the first days of the government, in addition to the three-month transition period. This was largely due to the weakness of the Boric administration, which allowed Kast’s team to exert great influence over the final decisions of the previous government. This blurred their role as an opposition and gave the impression that the new administration has been governing for longer than it actually has, breaking the traditional “honeymoon” or grace period that generally lasts between six months and a year for new governments.
However, beyond the government’s frequent communication problems, the people of Chile are facing what we defined in the January Political Report as an “Offensive against the Homeland, the popular movement, and the workers.” Following the example of Javier Milei in Argentina, the new government is clearly attempting to produce a situation of regressive economic and social impact in its first phase. Their tactic was to utilize the grace period—eventually leveraging initial political support—to secure the organic measures of their reactionary project. Clearly, this operation has failed; the confidence and arrogance of the oligarchic bloc have been leveled in an unusually short period, cementing the image of an erratic, improvised government that serves only the privileged in the eyes of the majority of the population.
Undoubtedly, the rise in fuel prices—resulting from the aggression of the Epstein alliance against the courageous and resilient Islamic Republic of Iran—has struck the government from the outset. The government has provided rigid and ideological responses, such as the revision of the Fuel Price Stabilization Mechanism (MEPCO), which has meant a massive transfer of capital from the popular sectors to monopoly capital, cruelly impacting the population’s cost of living.
The withdrawal of bills that are inconvenient for the current government—especially regarding environmental and labor matters—the reformulation of CAE student debts, and the announcement of presidential pardons for those convicted of human rights abuses in recent years (which threatens to extend to the genocidaires of the Pinochet dictatorship) are all measures that define a true attack against the popular sectors. However, contrary to the reactionary administration’s forecasts, these have generated an incipient but growing response that threatens to further degrade the government’s support base.
The government’s latest proposal, so-called “Reconstruction,” is conferred a strategic character as it will mark the axis of efforts deployed by the oligarchic reaction from the Presidency. It is clearly a series of measures oriented toward strengthening monopoly capital over the interests of workers and other popular sectors, resorting to the well-known refrain of needing to lower taxes to favor investment, thereby rolling back some of the few redistributive measures applied since 1990. Clearly, this is an attempt to recover the rate of profit for monopoly capital through a massive transfer of resources from the popular sectors.
Special mention must be made of the government’s clumsy relationship with some of today’s most repudiated international figures, such as Donald Trump and the unscrupulous criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, whose images have increasingly declined—especially after finalizing their failed aggression, in alliance with the Zionist entity, against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Another character, combining the ridiculous with the nefarious, who appears very close to the government is Javier Milei, who has led our Argentine brothers to unprecedented levels of poverty and bad governance. These figures face growing prestige loss and repudiation in their own countries and worldwide; Kast, in an erroneous assessment of a supposed “rise of the new right,” failed to calculate the damage of being linked to these increasingly weak reactionary processes.
The process of degradation of the government’s support base was expected, but not with the speed at which it has occurred, which involves an important challenge for our organization. In its January leadership meeting, our Party characterized the Kast government as:
“An aggressive project of oligarchic deepening and essential dependence, oriented toward consolidating the dominance of large financial capital and subordinating Chile to the interests of US imperialism and Zionism.”
We consider this definition to be evidently correct and fundamentally ratified by the actions undertaken by the reactionary bloc in government.
Current conditions are extremely challenging for the Party and our incipient associated instruments. We must accelerate their construction and development while urging the growth of our organization at the leadership levels and auxiliary work teams. It is indispensable that we advance forcefully in building a “Revolutionary Political Leadership” capable of filling the historical vacuum of guidance caused by the reformist and liberal drift of both the traditional globalist left and the anarchizing “movementism” that has submerged the popular movement in Chile.
The construction of a sovereignist and popular alternative is the best antidote to prevent the return of the globalist “left” (progressives) with their stances functional to financial capital; they see in the government’s growing erosion the hope of resuming a path that leads them back to La Moneda. In this sense, we must interpret recent media appearances by Jeannette Jara or the attempted articulation of the FA-PS-PC bloc. These actions are a manifestation of the goal to keep the figures of so-called “progressivism” relevant in view of the 2029 general elections. A portion of these sectors will insist on the unity of the opposition and on grouping us for the combat against what they call the “ultra-right” and “fascism.” While we will undoubtedly likely coincide in spaces of mobilization with liberal left sectors, it is our duty to remember that we represent a different historical project from the “undefined and liberal left” sectors. This difference is sustained by very divergent views regarding the national project, from the political-economic to the cultural. We also extend this difference to the anarchizing groups that sublimate falsely “radical” forms but are deeply susceptible to being manipulated by repressive agents. This clarification is fundamental, as we will encounter both types of organizations in practical, daily action.
Recapitulating: both the liberals and the movementists are functional to repressive actions, and both possess political projects distant from our goal of a Sovereign and Popular Revolution and the construction of a new subject for the profound transformation of social reality in Chile: popular sovereignism.
In this interesting, complex, and challenging historical juncture, we again ratify our political line for the period, which we established in January of this year:
“The Construction of the Sovereignist Historical Bloc and the Organization of the Popular Rupture.”
In correspondence with this definition, our main efforts must be oriented toward the following tasks:
- The organic development of the instrument ecosystem of the Chilean Revolution: including its motor core, the Workers’ Party of Chile first and foremost; the Sovereignist Left within a great political and social movement of national-popular content; and finally, a great force of organized and disciplined social mobilization that disputes the streets against both anarchizing movementism and the active expressions of reaction. This task is fundamental to develop this year and will allow us to lay the foundations that ensure an active public emergence of these three components, primarily within the Workers’ Party of Chile by the year 2027.
- The most effective convocation for the great Sovereignist Encounter on June 26: This involves securing its summons, constructing the political tools and documents for the encounter, and its logistics—viewing the development of the Sovereignist Bloc as a relevant and influential transformative political actor among the working and popular sectors.
- Maintaining ties with other nearby left-wing organizations: focusing on mobilizing action against the reactionary government in an increasing scenario of weakening for the most aggressive sectors of the reaction.
Comrades, we must maintain a constant state of alert, as the changing political situation demands new efforts that constitute a true test for our young organization. The contribution of the Workers’ Party and the Sovereignist Bloc in constructing a viable new political subject—one that breaks the inertia caused by the traditional left, the liberals, and the decomposed forces of anarchizing movementism—depends on the speed and quality of our response. On the generation of new capacities will depend whether we are capable of achieving the construction of a new social subject that leads the Homeland and the People toward the longed-for Sovereign and Popular Revolution as the historical destiny of Chile.
For a Sovereign and Popular Revolution, let us build the new Patriotic Historical Bloc and organize the Popular Rupture!

Informe Político Partido del Trabajo de Chile: A construir el Proyecto Soberano y Popular ante el desgaste del gobierno oligárquico-sionista
A un mes de asumir la administración del Estado, el gobierno de Kast es víctima de su propia demagogia y de su simplificación irresponsable de los grandes problemas nacionales. En el transcurso de un mes ha descendido hasta al 41 % de apoyo, situación sorprendente, tomando en cuenta que, en el contexto de elecciones obligatorias, la candidatura de Kast obtuvo un 58 % en la segunda vuelta de diciembre pasado.
Los errores y la impericia del equipo han quedado al descubierto en los primeros días del gobierno , además del periodo de tres meses de transición , debido en gran medida que ante la debilidad de la administración de Boric, el equipo de Kast ejerció una gran influencia en las últimas decisiones del pasado gobierno , que desdibujó su rol de oposición y dio la impresión de que la nueva administración está gobernando desde más tiempo que el efectivo, rompiendo el tradicional periodo de luna de miel o de graciacon los nuevos gobiernos que en general se prolonga entre los seis meses y el año.
Sin embargo, más allá de los frecuentes problemas de comunicación del gobierno, el pueblo de Chile se enfrenta a lo que en el Informe Político de enero definimos como Ofensiva contra la Patria, el movimiento popular y los trabajadores, donde claramente el nuevo gobierno siguiendo el ejemplo de Javier Milei en Argentina, intenta producir una situación de impacto económico y social regresivo en su primer tramo, con la táctica de hacer uso del periodo de gracia, que eventualmente aprovecharía el respaldo político inicialpara asegurar las medidas orgánicas de su proyecto reaccionario. Claramente esta operación ha fracasado, quedando por el suelo la confianza y soberbia del bloque oligárquico en un periodo de tiempo inusualmente breve y asentando ante la mayoría de la población la imagen de un gobierno errático, improvisado y sobre todo al servicio de los privilegiados.
Sin duda el alza de los combustibles , fruto de la agresión de la alianza de Epstein contra la valerosa y resiliente República Islámica de Irán, ha golpeado de entrada al gobierno, entregando este respuestas rígidas e ideológicas, como la revisión del Mecanismo de Estabilización de Precios del Combustible, o MEPCO, que han significado una enorme transferencia de capital desde los sectores populares al capital monopólico, lo que ha impactado de una manera cruel en el costo de la vida de la población.
El retiro de proyectos de ley molestos para el actual gobierno, especialmente en materia medio ambiental y laboral, la reformulación de las deudas CAE, el anuncio de uso del indulto presidencial para condenados por abusos a los derechos humanos en los últimos años, que amenaza con ser extensivo a los genocidas de la dictadura pinochetista, son todas medidas que definen un verdadero ataque contra los sectores populares, sin embargo contra los pronósticos de la administración reaccionaria, han generado una respuesta incipiente pero creciente, que amenaza con degradar aún más las bases de apoyo al actual gobierno.
La última propuesta del gobierno, la llamada Reconstrucción, a la cual le confieren un carácter estratégico pues marcará el eje de los esfuerzos desplegados por la reacción oligárquica desde la Presidencia, es claramente una serie de medidas orientadas a fortalecer el capital monopólico por sobre los intereses de los trabajadores y demás sectores populares, recurriendo a su sabida cantinela de necesidad de bajar impuestos para favorecer las inversiones, retrayendo algunas de las pocas medidas redistributivas aplicadas desde 1990. Claramente es un intento de recuperar la taza de ganancia en favor del capital monopólico por vía de una enorme trasferencia de recursos desde los sectores populares.
Mención aparte es la torpe relación del gobierno con algunos de los personajes internacionales más repudiados en la actualidad, como son Donald Trump y el criminal inescrupuloso de Benjamín Netanyahu, quienes han tenido una caída de imagen creciente, sobre todo luego de concretizar su fallida agresión en alianza con la entidad sionista contra la República Islámica de Irán. Otro personaje que combina lo ridículo con lo nefasto que aparece muy cercano al gobierno es Javier Milei, quien ha llevado a nuestros hermanos argentinos a niveles inéditos de pobreza y mal gobierno. Estas figuras están en sus países y en el mundo en creciente desprestigio y repudio, y Kast en una apreciación errónea sobre un supuesto “auge de las nuevas derechas”, no calculó el daño de ser vinculado a estos procesos reaccionarios cada vez más débiles.
El proceso de degradación de la base de apoyo al gobierno era esperable, pero no con la rapidez que se ha generado, lo que involucra un importante desafío a nuestra organización. Nuestro Partido caracterizó en la reunión de su dirección en el mes de enero al gobierno de Kast como:
“Un proyecto agresivo de profundización oligárquica y esencialmente dependiente, orientado a consolidar el dominio del gran capital financiero y subordinar a Chile a los intereses del imperialismo estadounidense y el sionismo”
Consideramos que esta definición se evidencia como correcta y es fundamentalmente ratificada por las acciones emprendidas por el bloque reaccionario en el gobierno.
Las actuales condiciones son en extremo desafiantes para el Partido y nuestros incipientes instrumentos asociados, pues debemos acelerar la construcción y desarrollo de estos, a la vez de apremiar el crecimiento de nuestra organización en los niveles de Dirección y equipos de trabajos auxiliares. Es indispensable que avancemos con fuerza en el desarrollo de construcción de Dirección Política Revolucionaria, que sea capaz de llenar el vacío histórico de conducción que la deriva reformista y liberal tanto de la izquierda tradicional globalista, como del movimientismo anarquizante que han sumido al movimiento popular de Chile.
La construcción de una alternativa soberanista y popular es el mejor antídoto para impedir la vuelta de los sectores globalistas de “izquierda” (progresistas) con sus posturas funcionales al capital financiero, ellos ven en el creciente desgaste del gobierno la esperanza de retomar un camino que los lleve de vuelta a La Moneda. En este sentido debemos interpretar las recientes apariciones en medios de comunicación de Jeannette Jara o el intento de articulación del bloque FA-PS-PC. Estas acciones son una manifestación del objetivo de mantener vigentes las figuras del llamado progresismo en vistas a las elecciones generales de 2029. Una parte de estos sectores va a insistir en la unidad de la oposición y en agruparnos para el combate contra lo que ellos llaman ultraderecha y fascismo , y sin duda es probable que coincidamos en espacios de movilización con los sectores liberales de izquierda, sin embargo es nuestro deber recordar que representamos un proyecto histórico diferente de los sectores de la izquierda indefinida y liberal, esta diferencia se sustenta en miradas muy divergentes respecto al proyecto de país , desde lo político económico hasta lo cultural. Esta diferencia la hacemos extensiva también a los grupos anarquizantes que subliman las formas falsamente radicales, pero profundamente susceptibles de ser manipulados por agentes represivos. Esta aclaración es fundamental, pues en la acción práctica y cotidiana nos encontraremos con estos dos tipos de organizaciones.
Recapitulando, tanto las liberales como los movimientistas y funcional al accionar represivo, ambas con proyectos políticos distantes de nuestro objetivo de una Revolución Soberana y Popular y de la construcción de un nuevo sujeto para la trasformación profunda de la realidad social chilena, el soberanismo popular.
En esta interesante, compleja y desafiante coyuntura histórica, nuevamente ratificamos nuestra línea política para el periodo, la cual establecimos en el mes de enero del presente año:
“ la Construcción del Bloque Histórico Soberanista y Organización de la Ruptura Popular”
En correspondencia con esta definición nuestros esfuerzos principales se deben orientar a las siguientes tareas:
El desarrollo orgánico del ecosistema instrumento de la Revolución Chilena, con su núcleo motor, el Partido del Trabajo de Chile en primer lugar, la Izquierda Soberanista dentro de un gran movimiento político y social de contenido, nacional-popular y por último una gran fuerza de movilización social organizada y disciplinada, que dispute la calle tanto el movimientismo anarquizante, como a las expresiones activas de la reacción. Esta tarea es fundamental para desarrollar en este año y nos permitirá asentar los cimientos que aseguren una salida publica activa de estos tres componentes, pero dentro fundamentalmente del Partido del Trabajo de Chile para el año 2027.
La convocatoria más efectiva para el gran Encuentro Soberanista del 26 de junio. Esto involucra el aseguramiento de su convocatoria, la construcción de las herramientas políticas y documentos del encuentro y su logística. Lo anterior en la mirada sobre el desarrollo del Bloque Soberanista como un actor político transformador relevante e influyente en los sectores obreros Y populares.
Mantener el vínculo con otras organizaciones de izquierda cercanas centrado en la acción movilizadora contra el gobierno reaccionario en un escenario creciente de debilitamiento de los sectores más agresivos de la reacción.
Camaradas, débenos mantener un constante estado de alerta, pues la situación política cambiante nos exige nuevos esfuerzos que se constituyen en una verdadera prueba para nuestra joven organización. De la rapidez y calidad de la respuesta depende el aporte del Partido de Trabajo y del Bloque Soberanista en la construcción de un nuevo sujeto político viable que rompa la inercia a la que han llevado a los sectores populares la izquierda tradicional, los liberales y las descompuestas fuerzas del movimientismo anarquizantes. De la generación de nuevas capacidades dependerá si somos capaces de lograr la construcción de un nuevo sujeto social que conduzca a la Patria y Pueblo a la anhelada Revolución Soberana y Popular como destino histórico de Chile.
