[Spokesperson Report (Statement) 669]
The Ruto Regime of Kenya is a Notorious, Murderous Fascist Regime That Fires at Peaceful Protesters
A heinous situation has occurred where the Kenyan police fired gunshots in front of protesters fighting for the release of detainees. It has been well over a day since the fascist Kenyan authorities illegally and violently dispersed a peaceful and legal rally and march against the “Africa-France Summit” just 20 minutes after it began at approximately 11:30 AM on May 12. By deploying the military, they forcibly arrested and illegally detained a total of 13 members of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform (Platform) delegation and international activists, including Lee Sanghun (former President of the People’s Democracy Party and Leader of the 21st Century Che Guevara); Song Danbee (Member of the International Committee of the People’s Democracy Party); Joti Brar, Chairperson of the Communist Party of Great Bratain (GPGB-ML); Dimitrios Patelis, Founding Member of the Revolutionary Theory Group (Greece). While the worst human rights violations—including the obstruction of the right to legal counsel—are occurring every hour in anti-human rights facilities comparable to those in the ‘Republic of Korea’ (ROK, South Korea) during the 1960s and 70s, a barbaric act took place on the afternoon of the 13th. As members of the Communist Party Marxist Kenya (CPMK) were concluding a protest at the Kenya Central Police Station to demand the immediate release of their international comrades, the police fired two shots toward the protesters as a murderous threat.
Firing bullets at protesters marks the beginning of another massacre. This is clearly evidenced by the brutal and murderous atrocities committed by the Ruto regime thus far. During the summers of 2024 and 2025, the Ruto regime killed more than 130 people and left hundreds injured or missing by indiscriminately and directly firing lethal live ammunition and tear gas—which are prohibited or strictly restricted under international law—at Kenyan youth and people participating in anti-neoliberal rallies, as well as by spraying water cannons mixed with lethal chemicals. When the protests, which began as a struggle for the right to survive, evolved into a struggle against the IMF and neoliberalism under the influence of progressive forces including the Communist Party Marxist Kenya (CPMK), the Ruto regime began wielding medieval-style tyranny, including assassination attempts, political terror, illegal arrests, violence, and torture against CPMK General Secretary Booker Omole and key activists. This same murderous fascist Ruto regime is currently committing human rights violations and threats while kidnapping and detaining the World Anti-Imperialist Platform delegation and international activists. We condemn the heinous annihilation of human rights and fascist outrages of the murderous fascist Ruto regime in the strongest possible terms.
The Lee Jae-myung Regime and National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik must rescue our citizens immediately! As is well known, former Party President Lee Sanghun and Member Song Danbee were literally kidnapped without a warrant or notification of the reasons for their arrest while engaging in peaceful activities at a legal rally recognized by the Kenyan authorities. These two members of our party have remained silent and are currently on a hunger strike in strong protest.
William Ruto is a fascist terrorist and a fascist mass murderer wearing the mask of a president. By bowing down to this beastly individual to beg for strategic minerals such as rare earths, and further pursuing military collusion by pushing for the signing of an ACSA (Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement) with Kenya—the imperialist bridgehead for aggression in East Africa—the regime is completely surrendering to the murderous fascist Ruto regime and the US and French imperialist forces of aggression behind it.
Woo Won-shik must painfully realize that his political life is now on the most serious trial. We sternly warn President Lee Jae-myung that the moment he is defined as a pro-imperialist and pro-fascist leader, he will become the primary target of the People’s Democracy Party. Like a blade that becomes sharper the more it is struck, the People’s Democracy Party will build a powerful international anti-imperialist front with the progressive humanity of the world and wage a global anti-imperialist struggle. We will surely put an end to imperialism and fascism, the common enemies of humanity.
