The Embassy of Vietnam in Venezuela, in collaboration with the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House (CAVV) and the University of International Communication (UICOM), organized a ceremony to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2026), Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2026), and a seminar titled “The Glorious 81-Year Journey of the Vietnamese Revolution and the Vision for the Nation’s Progress in the New Era.”
The event, held at the Venezuelan Palace of Labor in Miranda State, was not only an opportunity to review Vietnam’s history but also demonstrated the affection and special attachment that many sectors of the Venezuelan people feel toward Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh, and the Vietnamese people’s struggle for independence and national reunification.
In his opening remarks, CAVV President Carolus Wimmer congratulated the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam on the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, noting that the Autumn Revolution of 1945 was a turning point that led Vietnam into a period of independence and freedom.
Based on his visits and research in Vietnam, Dr. Carolus Wimmer believes that Vietnam’s achievements are due to the nation’s indomitable spirit, Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, and the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He expressed his confidence that Vietnam will continue to achieve new successes in its national development.
At the event, the Venezuelan academics and researchers attending the conference paid special attention to the history of the Vietnamese Revolution and the thought of Ho Chi Minh. Joselym Baez, in her presentation titled “The Unbreakable Thread of Sacrifice and Solidarity,” highlighted the importance of the August 1945 Revolution and the Vietnamese people’s spirit of struggle for independence and freedom.
