Yemen’s Ansar Allah “Fully Seizes Key Red Sea Islands and Mocha City”

Yemen’s Ansar Allah announced through the media that it had come to fully control strategic strongholds and nearby islands in the Red Sea after clashes with government forces.

According to Russia’s Sputnik news agency on September 10, Ansar Allah Political Bureau member Khuzam al-Assad said in an interview, “After clashes with government forces, we have fully seized Yemen’s Mocha City and all Yemeni-owned islands in the Red Sea.”

He added, “We have fully seized not only Mocha City but also Perim Island in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Bab el-Mandeb district of Taiz Governorate, and all Yemeni islands in the Red Sea.”

As tensions in the Strait of Hormuz escalate day after day, Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil producer, would have to export oil by detouring through the Suez Canal and the Cape of Good Hope if the alternative route through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea is also blocked.

If Yemen’s Ansar Allah, part of the “Axis of Resistance,” comes to fully control the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea, Iran will gain a decisive advantage in a war with the US.
