Vladimir Putin discussed Russia’s steps to deescalate the conflict and ensure steady deliveries of humanitarian aid to those in need, based on his earlier contacts with the leaders of the Middle East states. Russia will continue to supply essential items to Gaza, including medicines and medical equipment.
They emphasised the importance of an early cessation of the bloodshed and resumption of the political process in the Middle East settlement based on the generally recognised international legal basis that envisages the establishment of the State of Palestine within the 1967 borders. In this context, the Russian side expressed support for the efforts undertaken by the Palestinian authorities led by Mahmoud Abbas.
They expressed their shared intention to continue strengthening friendly Russian-Palestinian relations. The Russian side confirmed that the President of Palestine was invited to visit Russia within a mutually acceptable timeframe.
