On May 19, the 11th Corean International Forum was held at the Gwangju, South Korea.
The World Anti-imperialist Platform was launched at the Paris International Conference in October 2022 and held international conferences in Belgrade in December, 2022, and Caracas in March, Seoul in May, and Athens in November, 2023. The International forum in 2024 was held in Gwangju, South Korea with the theme of “The Situation of World War 3 and the tasks of Anti-imperialist Forces for Independence”.
The forum was held in three parts. It was attended by communist and anti-imperialist delegations from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Participants analyzed in-depth the outbreak of the war in Palestine in 2023, the escalation of the war in the Middle East, and the war crisis in East Asia, following the war in Ukraine in 2022, and explored the challenges under the conditions of the “New Cold War” system.
The first session with “The war in Ukraine: the beginning of World War 3” began with a video of Boris Litvinov, First Secretary of the Donetsk Republican Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. This was followed by presentations by Joti Brar (Commuinst Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist)), Bruno Drweski (Association Nationale des Communistes, France), Jozef Bossuyt (Communist Party of Belgium), and Miloš Karavezić (New Communist Party of Yugoslavia), and Kim Jang-min (Institute of Political Economy PNYX, South Korea), and panel discussion.
In the second session with “The war in Palestine: the escalation of World War 3,” Azzam Tamimi (Alhiwar TV Channel, Britain), Adham Sayed (Lebanese Communist Party), Bahattin Özdemir (Yeni Donem, Turkey), and Kim Jangmin gave presentations, followed by a panel discussion with Bruno Dreski and Joti Brar.
In the third session, “The wars in East Asia: World War 3 in full swing” featured presentations by Cha Eun-jeong (Special Committee on Anti-US anti-war of the PDP, South Korea), and Ju Hsing Tsang (Labor Party (Taiwan)), followed by a panel discussion with Kim Jung-ho (Ph.D from Peking University, South Korea), Jozef Bossuyt, Adham Sayed, and Joti Brar.
In the closing remarks, the moderator pointed out that the first and second sessions were for analysis and the third session was for discussion of prospects, and evaluated that despite the differences in views on World War 3 and the “New Cold War”, it was an impressive discussion in which scientific evidence and logic shone through, and scientific analysis of the current situation and in-depth discussion of the challenges faced by anti-imperialist forces for independence.
