Lecture from Dimitrios Patelis in Belgrade on June 28

10-Point Brief

As we have demonstrated elsewhere (*10 Commandments of the Most Volatile Opportunism and Revisionism*. Patelis D., *Platform Monthly Organ No. 2*, July 2023, pp. 44–50), this ideological construct constitutes a “cohesive” scheme of deception and manipulation, providing exceptionally valuable practical service to the attacking Euro-Atlantic imperialist axis, since:

1. The notorious nonsense about the “imperialist pyramid” of Communist Party of Greece (KKE) is based on a deliberate confusion of the scientific concepts/categories “imperialist stage” and “imperialist state” (Eng. *”Imperialist stage” & “imperialist state”*), by which ALL states are automatically branded as “imperialist”!

2. They thus reject the contradiction between imperialist countries (a handful of parasitic rentiers, per Lenin) and independent, semi-independent, and dependent countries, which extract surplus value through multiple mechanisms on a regional and global scale via the siphoning of monopoly superprofits.

3. They reject the Leninist category of the “weak link”: a country or group of countries, a region where the internal and global contradictions of the imperialist system are concentrated into an explosive node, making the outbreak of revolutionary situations both possible and necessary.

4. They reject communist strategy through the metaphysical separation of strategy from tactics and the reduction of the latter to an abstract “anti-capitalism.” They go so far as to reject and even prohibit the very word “tactics.”

5. They metaphysically detach theory from practice while reducing scientific theory to propagandistic ideological constructs, meant to conceal their opportunistic and regime-serving deviations.

6. They have come to deny the very existence of law-governed stages of historical development, constituting a crude rejection of the dialectics of revolutionary progress.

7. According to their dogma, there are no “weak links,” no tactical transitional objectives, and no escalation of struggle—from revolutionary situations, uprisings with broad anti-imperialist (national liberation, anti-neocolonial, democratic, etc.) movements in dependent countries with medium or below-medium development levels, toward socialist revolution.

8. They practically reject the existing victorious early socialist revolutions of various peoples, invoking a metaphysically idealized “model of pure socialism”—one without contradictions, problems, or conflicts with counterrevolution—a model in absolute metaphysical opposition to capitalism, in the spirit of abstract “anti-capitalism,” the imaginary absolute negation of capitalism in the metaphysical beyond of the “maturation of conditions”…

9. They wholesale reject the camp of countries born from early socialist revolutions, even explicitly questioning the socialist character of the USSR! They characterize WWII as “inherently and entirely imperialist,” etc. They reject all existing socialism (People’s Republic of China, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Cuba, etc.) on the basis of bourgeois ahistorical ideological constructs that equate any existence of commodity-money relations with capitalism.

10. They reject anti-imperialism and the countries that emerged from victorious national liberation, anti-colonial, etc. movements, influenced by and with the internationalist assistance of the victorious early socialist revolutions of the 20th century.
