STATEMENT BY THE CONGRESS OF LEFT-WING WOMEN
We, feminist, Bolivarian, Afro-descendant, Latin American, and Caribbean women, express our profound rejection of the systematic and ongoing threats made by the United States government against the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.
We condemn the presence of the US destroyer USS Gravely in Caribbean waters, which docked in Port of Spain on Sunday, October 26, for joint training with the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force.
As women, who are the foundation of community and territorial organization and care, we know that every time imperialist forces seek to enter our territories, they also violate our dignity and our bodies, which are abused as a form of intimidation to make other women afraid and prevent them from organizing against patriarchal power.
The supremacist government of the United States and Donald Trump have demonstrated time and again their misogynistic, racist, and patriarchal character, with a deep contempt for Palestinian women, girls, and adolescents, who, in addition to suffering political and sexual violence from a Zionist occupation army, face Western and neocolonial patriarchy, just as indigenous and peasant women, Afro-descendant and mestizo women throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Neither our bodies nor our territories are zones of conquest!
We, the women of the Caribbean, have been resisting for more than 500 years and we will continue to be born, caring for life and territory!
PRONUNCIAMIENTO DEL CONGRESO ARTICULADOR DE MUJERES DE IZQUIERDA
Nosotras, mujeres feministas, bolivarianas, afrodescendientes, latinas y del Caribe, expresamos nuestro profundo rechazo a la amenaza sistemática y permanente del gobierno de los Estados Unidos hacia los pueblos de Latinoamérica y el Caribe.
Repudiamos la presencia del destructor estadounidense USS Gravely en aguas del Caribe, que este domingo 26 de octubre atracara en Puerto España para un entrenamiento conjunto con la Fuerza de Defensa de Trinidad y Tobago.
Las mujeres, base de la organización de la vida y el cuidado de la comunidad y el territorio, sabemos que cada vez que la razón imperialista se quiere meter en nuestros territorios, también ultraja nuestra dignidad y nuestros cuerpos, que son violentados como forma de amedrentamiento para que otras mujeres tengan miedo y no se organicen frente al poder patriarcal.
El gobierno supremacista de Estados Unidos y Donald Trump ha demostrado una y otra vez su carácter misógino, racista y patriarcal, con un desprecio profundo a las mujeres, niñas y adolescentes palestinas, que además de padecer la violencia polÃtica y sexual de un ejército sionista de ocupación, enfrentan al Patriarcado occidental y neocolonial como las mujeres indigenas y campesinas, las afro y mestizas lo hacemos en toda Latinoamérica y el Caribe.
¡Ni nuestros cuerpos ni nuestros territorios son zonas de conquista!
¡Las mujeres del Caribe resistimos hace más de 500 años y seguiremos naciendo, cuidando la vida y el territorio!
