Statement of the Communist Party of Ecuador on the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and the military aggression of U.S. imperialism against Venezuela

The COMMUNIST PARTY OF ECUADOR denounces before the peoples of the world the military offensive carried out by U.S. imperialism against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The bombing of the city of Caracas, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, the murder of members of the Venezuelan state security forces, and the kidnapping of the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro Moros together with comrade Cilia Flores constitute crimes of an international nature that openly violate the fundamental principles of public international law.
These actions confirm the openly fascist character of the government of Donald Trump, whose political practice is based on preventive war, the doctrine of the internal enemy, and the systematic denial of the sovereignty of peoples. Under the functional pretext of the so-called “fight against drug trafficking,” the U.S. state revives its historical mechanisms of intervention, combining military violence, diplomatic blackmail, and political destabilization, with the objective of subjecting Venezuela to the logic of imperial subordination.
We call upon revolutionary, popular, and anti-imperialist forces around the world to raise a firm and organized condemnation of this criminal escalation, to deepen internationalist solidarity with the Venezuelan people, and to strengthen the historic struggle against U.S. imperialism in all its forms.

Pronunciamiento del Partido Comunista del Ecuador ante el secuestro del presidente Nicolás Maduro y la agresión militar del imperialismo estadounidense contra Venezuela

El PARTIDO COMUNISTA DEL ECUADOR denuncia ante los pueblos del mundo la ofensiva militar ejecutada por el imperialismo norteamericano contra la República Bolivariana de Venezuela. El bombardeo sobre la ciudad de Caracas, la destrucción de infraestructura civil, el asesinato de miembros de los cuerpos de seguridad del Estado venezolano y el secuestro del presidente constitucional Nicolás Maduro Moros junto a la compañera Cilia Flores constituyen crímenes de carácter internacional que transgreden abiertamente los principios fundamentales del derecho internacional público.
Estos hechos confirman el carácter abiertamente fascista del gobierno de Donald Trump, cuya práctica política se sostiene en la guerra preventiva, la doctrina del enemigo interno y la negación sistemática de la soberanía de los pueblos. Bajo el pretexto funcional de la llamada “lucha contra el narcotráfico”, el Estado norteamericano reactualiza sus mecanismos históricos de intervención, combinando violencia militar, chantaje diplomático y desestabilización política, con el objetivo de someter a Venezuela a la lógica de subordinación imperial.
Convocamos a las fuerzas revolucionarias, populares y antiimperialistas del mundo a levantar una condena firme y organizada frente a esta escalada criminal, a profundizar la solidaridad internacionalista con el pueblo venezolano y a fortalecer la lucha histórica contra el imperialismo norteamericano en todas sus formas.
