On January 9, 2026, the Struggle Union Platform, which proclaims “Imperialism Will Be Defeated, the Venezuelan People Will Win!”, visited the Venezuelan Consulate in Istanbul in solidarity against the attacks of US imperialism.
During conversations with Consul Lissett Margarita Hernandez Marquez about the latest attack by US imperialism and the Venezuelan people taking to the streets as a whole to defend their president and their country after the despicable operation to kidnap President Nicolas Maduro, it was emphasized how important the support and solidarity of all the peoples of the world is. Consul Marquez stated that solidarity with the Venezuelan people and the struggle against imperialism are of utmost importance, emphasizing that the support of the people is greater than that of states.
After a conversation lasting about an hour, a file containing the Struggle Union’s latest articles and statements on Venezuela was handed over to the consul, and the delegation took their leave.
After the meeting, a press statement was made in front of the Consulate by the Struggle Union Platform with a banner reading “Imperialism Will Be Defeated, the Venezuelan People Will Win!” and signs in English and Spanish reading “Freedom for Maduro.”
The press statement read by Muhammed Hizmetçi said, “A tooth-and-nail struggle is being waged everywhere in the world against the flagship of imperialism, the United States, and its supporters, who are trying to spread the process of total economic annexation to every corner of the planet in order to maintain their hegemony, targeting all countries where socialists and popular forces are in power. From Palestine to Venezuela, everywhere is witnessing a fierce struggle between revolution and counter-revolution, between imperialist barbarians and oppressed peoples.
The Bolivarian government of Venezuela and the Venezuelan working class are creating powerful examples of popular power in the form of communes and popular militias, leaving no chance for imperialism and the counter-revolutionaries to win. Neither the sieges of the imperialist world nor military attacks will subdue the Bolivarian government and the Venezuelan people. Victory will belong to the comrades of Chávez, who declared, “Comuna O Nada!”
