TO OUR AUDIENCE

It is no secret that Radio Pichincha has been the target of constant attacks and smear campaigns in recent years. We have denounced them in an opportune and documented manner; however, far from ceasing, these aggressions have intensified.

Today, once again, we must denounce a systematic, coordinated, and cowardly attack against our colleague Elena Rodríguez, journalist and host of the programs En Contexto and Punto Noticias. Various digital portals and supposed media outlets aligned with the regime have launched a campaign aimed at discrediting her, not for lacking the truth, but precisely for practicing critical, firm, and independent journalism.

These digital rag sheets intend to attack her credibility, question her work, and silence a voice that, every day, challenges power with arguments, responsibility, and conviction. They do not seek to debate ideas or verify information; they seek to intimidate, delegitimize, and punish those who dare to think and express their opinions freely.

From Radio Pichincha, we categorically reject these infamous attacks. We express our full support and solidarity with Elena Rodríguez, whose career, professionalism, and journalistic ethics speak for themselves.

In the face of those who use defamation as a political tool, we reaffirm our commitment to freedom of expression, critical journalism, and the right of citizens to receive independent information. We will not be intimidated. We will not remain silent. And we will continue to carry out our work with the same firmness and responsibility as always.

A NUESTRA AUDIENCIA

No es un secreto que Radio Pichincha ha sido objeto de constantes ataques y campañas de desprestigio durante los últimos años. Los hemos denunciado de manera oportuna y documentada; sin embargo, lejos de cesar, estas agresiones se han intensificado.

Hoy, una vez más, debemos denunciar un ataque sistemático, coordinado y cobarde contra nuestra compañera Elena Rodríguez, periodista y conductora de los espacios En Contexto y Punto Noticias. Diversos portales digitales y supuestos medios de comunicación alineados con el régimen han emprendido una campaña destinada a desacreditarla, no por faltar a la verdad, sino precisamente por ejercer un periodismo crítico, firme e independiente.

Estos pasquines digitales pretenden atacar su credibilidad, cuestionar su trabajo y silenciar una voz que, todos los días, interpela al poder con argumentos, responsabilidad y convicción. No buscan debatir ideas ni contrastar información; buscan intimidar, deslegitimar y castigar a quien se atreve a pensar y opinar con libertad.

Desde Radio Pichincha rechazamos de manera categórica estos ataques infames. Expresamos nuestro total respaldo y solidaridad con Elena Rodríguez, cuya trayectoria, profesionalismo y ética periodística hablan por sí solos.

Frente a quienes utilizan la difamación como herramienta política, reafirmamos nuestro compromiso con la libertad de expresión, el periodismo crítico y el derecho de la ciudadanía a recibir información independiente. No nos intimidarán. No guardaremos silencio. Y seguiremos ejerciendo nuestro trabajo con la misma firmeza y responsabilidad de siempre.
