We condemn with the utmost firmness and indignation what happened in the early hours of July 1 in Türkiye, where police forces raided a campsite, arresting the young activists of the World Anti-imperialist Youth Platform.
The facts reported to us describe a scenario of unacceptable repression, the political timing of which, however, is sadly unequivocal. The young men and women detained were in a small coastal town, a seven-hour journey from Istanbul and very far from Ankara. Yet, precisely as the NATO Summit is being prepared in the capital, the Turkish state—acting as a loyal gendarme and outpost of the Atlantic Alliance—has decided to strike preemptively and silence those who oppose the logic of war and imperialist oppression.
A government and a power apparatus that find themselves forced to persecute revolutionary youth organizations not only in the streets, but going so far as to carry out intimidating raids inside universities or to suppress meetings in strictly private venues, are clearly the plastic demonstration of the terror that the masters of war harbor toward those who do not bend.
This operation is not a show of strength, but a symptom of profound weakness. It reveals the panic of a system that needs police repression to impose its warmongering agenda and to secure the summit of an Alliance, NATO, which for decades has sown death, destabilization, and misery. Attacking those who gather peacefully to imagine a world free from the yoke of imperialism is an affront against all those who fight for the genuine self-determination of peoples.
For these reasons, Risorgere expresses its deepest and unconditional solidarity with the comrades currently deprived of their liberty, with their lawyers, and with the entire World Anti-imperialist Platform.
We loudly demand that the Turkish authorities immediately release all detained activists and completely drop all pretextual charges. We firmly take up the call for international mobilization: we will take our protest wherever necessary, reaffirming our steadfast opposition to NATO and its wars. Their roundups will not stop our march; we will stand by the side of those who resist until every single militant is free again.

Condanniamo con la massima fermezza e indignazione quanto accaduto nelle prime ore del 1° luglio in Turchia, dove le forze di polizia hanno fatto irruzione in un campeggio arrestando i giovani attivisti della Piattaforma Mondiale della Gioventù Antimperialista.
I fatti che ci vengono riportati descrivono uno scenario di repressione inaccettabile, il cui tempismo politico è però tristemente inequivocabile. I ragazzi e le ragazze fermati si trovavano in una piccola località costiera, a sette ore di viaggio da Istanbul e lontanissimi da Ankara. Eppure, proprio mentre nella capitale si prepara il vertice della NATO, lo Stato turco – agendo come fedele gendarme e avamposto dell’Alleanza Atlantica – ha deciso di colpire preventivamente e silenziare chi si oppone alle logiche della guerra e dell’oppressione imperialista.
Un governo e un apparato di potere che si vedono costretti a perseguitare le organizzazioni giovanili rivoluzionarie non solo nelle piazze, ma spingendosi a compiere raid intimidatori all’interno delle università o a reprimere incontri in sedi strettamente private, sono palesemente la dimostrazione plastica del terrore che i padroni della guerra nutrono verso chi non si piega.
Questa operazione non è una prova di forza, ma un sintomo di profonda debolezza. Rivela il panico di un sistema che ha bisogno della repressione poliziesca per imporre la propria agenda guerrafondaia e per blindare il vertice di un’Alleanza, la NATO, che da decenni semina morte, destabilizzazione e miseria. Attaccare chi si riunisce pacificamente per immaginare un mondo libero dal giogo dell’imperialismo è un affronto contro tutti coloro che lottano per la reale autodeterminazione dei popoli.
Per queste ragioni, Risorgere esprime la sua più profonda e incondizionata solidarietà ai compagni e alle compagne attualmente privati della loro libertà, ai loro avvocati e all’intera Piattaforma Mondiale Antimperialista.
Chiediamo a gran voce alle autorità turche il rilascio immediato di tutti gli attivisti detenuti e la totale caduta di ogni pretestuosa accusa. Raccogliamo con convinzione l’appello alla mobilitazione internazionale: porteremo la nostra protesta ovunque sarà necessario, ribadendo la nostra ferma opposizione alla NATO e alle sue guerre. Le loro retate non fermeranno la nostra marcia; resteremo al fianco di chi resiste finché ogni singolo militante non sarà tornato libero.
