On August 14 Donald Trump said, “After we finish defeating Iran, which is being very badly defeated—pretty soon I’ll be declaring the Hormuz Strait a territory of the United States.” Donald Trump made these remarks during a speech at a police academy in Garden City, New York.
Donald Trump emphasized, “Essentially, that’s what it is. We have the blockade. No ships get through unless we want them to.”
He added, “Frankly, I used a little more military force than I wanted to, but that is okay, because we cannot let Iran have nuclear weapons.”
He also said, “For you to pay a tiny little bit more for your gasoline, just remember you’re doing it so that a very evil country cannot have a [nuclear weapon].”
He continued, asserting that Iran is “the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism. We don’t want them to have nuclear weapons,” and “When you have to pay a little bit more, you’re at $4, it’s OK, I mean, it’s not. I’ll never apologize. I did the right thing.”
