From Campuses to the Streets, Stand Up Against Imperialism!
The world is shaken by imperialist wars. Across the globe, youth uprisings break out for various reasons, people encounter state violence even in the most so-called “democratic” countries, and worker strikes are on the rise at a global level… The bourgeoisie can no longer rule as before, nor can the working class and youth adapt to the life offered by the bourgeoisie.
What is Turkey’s place in this turmoil? Turkey can be briefly summarized by the words of Donald Trump, the chief representative of the bourgeoisie and global imperialist wars: “Turkey has been a great ally for me.” At the same time, weeks before the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey raided homes to detain hundreds of anti-imperialist revolutionaries and youth, imprisoning many of them. By clearing the area of revolutionaries and anti-imperialist youth to arrange a meticulous welcome for the representatives of imperialism, Turkey demonstrated that it is the representative of NATO—and thus imperialism—in Western Asia.
Due to the nature of their politics and the class to which they belong, the backup “opposition” parties of the bourgeoisie can neither meet the demands of the people nor keep pace with the anger of the public, as seen during the March 19 Uprising.
So where does the youth stand in this system, and what contradictions does it struggle against?
Thousands of our schoolmates grapple with the housing problem, forced to reside in unsafe dormitories and eat in low-quality cafeterias, while selling our labor under part-time, uninsured, and precarious working conditions alongside our studies.
Dozens of us are killed every year at MESEMs (Vocational Education Centers); we wake up every new day to news of massacres. We cannot make ends meet, we cannot find housing, and we are being killed. Dealing with hundreds of problems, the youth witnesses and experiences all the contradictions of the system we live in firsthand.
Meanwhile, turning a blind eye to all these problems of the youth, the religious-fascist regime directs all its expenditures and efforts toward its imperialist masters, as demonstrated at the recent NATO summit. Just like the advertising billboards Ankara put up to hide its slums from view, it tries to conceal and sweep the problems of student youth under the rug in the exact same manner.
In response, as the sharp contradictions and crises of the capitalist order make life increasingly unsustainable, and as youth grows more organized within revolutionary ranks against the accompanying state bans and oppression, the fascist capital regime unleashes Private Security Forces (ÖGB) and fascist gangs on campuses, and the police on the streets. The moment the religious-fascist regime sees even the slightest potential for youth to become a political subject, it immediately draws its swords, attempting to halt them through investigations, calls to families, and threats of detention and arrest—all in vain! They try to intimidate the youth with various policies and torture, attempting to extinguish the gas fire with water!
As the dynamo force of the revolution, the youth will carry the struggle it has built from campuses to the streets, standing up against imperialism and its collaborators.
Our Demands Are Clear:
Autonomous, democratic, and scientific universities managed by us, not under the yoke of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and appointed trustees.
Equal, free, politechnic, and scientific education in the native language.
Safe, free campuses where we are not subjected to harassment.
The removal of police, ÖGB, and religious-reactionary fascist gangs from campuses, alongside the unhindered right to operate for closed student clubs and societies.
An end to the plunder of campuses turned into commercial enterprises and sites of rent generation.
High-quality and secure nutrition and housing conditions.
To carry the struggle against the exploitation of young labor at MESEMs from campuses to the streets under the banner of the Deniz’s, for a secure and humane life! The urgency of organizing has become a matter of life itself as the “about to collapse” order rapidly deteriorates. To defend life, to expand the fight, and to say “everywhere is a battleground, every moment is time for action” from campuses to the streets, the Revolutionary Student Union calls upon you.

Kampüslerden Sokağa Emperyalizme Karşı Ayağa!
Dünya emperyalist savaşlarla çalkalanıyor. Dünyanın her yerinde çeşitli sebeplerle, gençlik ayaklanmalarının patlak vermesi, en sözde “demokratik” ülkelerde dahi insanların devlet şiddetiyle tanışması ve küresel düzeyde artan işçi grevleri… Ne burjuvazi sınıfı eskisi gibi yönetebiliyor, ne de işçi sınıfı ve gençlik burjuvazinin sunduğu yaşama uyum sağlayabiliyor.
Türkiye’nin bu çalkantıda ki yeri nedir? Türkiye, burjuvazinin ve dünyadaki emperyalist savaşların baş temsilcisi Donald Trump’ın “Türkiye benim için harika bir müttefik olmuştur” deyişi ile kısaca özetlenebilir. Türkiye aynı zamanda, Ankara’da ki NATO zirvesine haftalar kala yüzlerce anti emperyalist devrimciyi ve gençliği ev baskınlarıyla gözaltına alıp, birçoğunu da tutsak etmiştir. Alanı devrimcilerden ve anti emperyalist gençlikten arındırıp, emperyalizmin temsilcilerine özenli bir karşılama düzenleyen Türkiye, NATO’nun yani emperyalizmin Batı Asya’daki temsilcisi olduğunu gözler önüne sermiştir.
Burjuvazinin yedek “muhalif” partileri, yaptıkları siyasetin ve mensup oldukları sınıfın niteliğinden dolayı, 19 Mart Ayaklanması’nda da görüldüğü üzere, ne halkın taleplerini karşılayabiliyorlar ne de halkın öfkesine ayak uydurabiliyorlar.
Peki gençlik bu düzenin neresinde kalıyor, hangi çelişkilerle boğuşuyor?
Binlerce sıra arkadaşımız barınma sorunuyla cebelleşiyor, güvencesiz yurtlarda barınmaya zorlanıyor, niteliksiz yemekhanelerde besleniyor, okurken bir yanda ise part-time sigortasız ve güvencesiz iş koşullarıyla emeğimizi satıyoruz.
MESEM’lerde her yıl onlarcamız katlediliyor, her yeni güne katliam haberleriyle uyanıyoruz. Geçinemiyoruz, barınamıyoruz ve katlediliyoruz. Yüzlerce sorunla uğraşan gençlik, aslında içinde bulunduğumuz sistemin tüm çelişkilerini yaşayarak görüyor.
Dinci-faşist iktidar ise gençliğin bütün bu sorunlarını sineye çekip, gerçekleşen NATO zirvesinde de görüldüğü üzere bütün harcamaları, çalışmaları kendi emperyalist efendileri için yapıyor. Tıpkı Ankara’nın gecekonduları görünmesin diye çektiği reklam tabelaları gibi öğrenci gençliğin sorunlarını da aynı şekilde saklamaya ve hasır altı etmeye çalışıyor.
Buna karşı gençlik, kapitalist düzenin çelişkilerinin ve krizlerinin gittikçe keskinleşmesi sonucu hayatın sürdürülemezliğine ve beraberinde gelen, devletin yasaklamalarına ve baskılarına karşı gittikçe daha örgütlü hale, devrimci saflarda yer alır hale geldikçe; faşist sermaye düzeni gençliğin karşısına üniversitelerde ÖGB’yi, faşist çeteleri, sokakta ise polisi çıkarıyor. Gençliğin en ufak bir politik özne olma ihtimalini dahi gördüğü anda, dinci-faşist iktidar hemen kılıçları çekiyor ve soruşturmalarla, aile aramalarıyla, gözaltı ve tutuklama tehditleriyle durdurmaya çalışıyorlar ancak nafile! Gençliği türlü politikalarla ve işkencelerle yıldırmaya, benzin ateşini suyla söndürmeye çalışıyorlar!
Devrimin dinamo kuvveti olan gençlik, büyüttüğü mücadeleyi kampüslerden sokağa taşıyacak, emperyalizme ve onun işbirlikçilerine karşın ayağa kalkacaktır.
