On May 21 (local time), the expedition to Hiroshima of the People’s Democracy Party and the World Anti-imperialist Platform entered its third day.
The expedition team participated in the rally, “Condemn of the G7 Joint Statement,” organized by “Hiroshima Anti-War Anti-Nuclear Rally August 6” at Fukuromachi Park.
At the rally, the delegation held banners in Japanese and English saying, “Stop War Cooperation between the US-Japan-South Korea!”, “No Nuclear War Maneuvers against North Korea!”, “Oppose scheme to build Asian version of Nato, G7! Withdraw all U.S. foreign bases!” and also held signs saying “DISBANDNATO” and “Disband Asian version of Nato.”
The expedition’s leader said, “G7 is a war summit of imperialist powers including the United States,” and “U.S. imperialism has been killing and plundering the people through a war in many places worldwide.
She said, “The U.S.-Japan-South Korea summit is to implement the U.S. war efforts,” and “Let’s liquidate Kishida, Yoon Suk-yeol, and Biden, who are planning a war that could kill the people.” The participants cheered his remarks.
In the march that followed, the delegation participated under the banner of the World Anti-imperialist Platform.
Although there was friction with the police, the participants shouted slogans, “Break up the imperialist G7 talks!”, “Overthrow Kishida and Biden!” and “Stop the nuclear arms buildup!” along with the chanting of the Japanese agitators.
In his closing remarks after the march, Charles Hoareau, the ANC (France) representative, said, “If they wanted peace, they would have invited Putin and Zelensky together to discuss it. Instead, they chose to invite only Zelensky to continue and escalate the war spreading across the world.
“We, in France, which is looting 15 African countries, also note the threats to Korea and China. We express our solidarity with the peoples of Asia and the world,” and “What the peoples want is peace. Let us shout together. War is calling for war!” he said emphatically.
People’s Democracy Party made its spokesperson reports “The G7 Hiroshima Summit is the Scene of the Planning of Nuclear War by the Aggressive Imperialist Forces” in Korean and French, and “Let us Put an End to Aggressive Imperialist Forces plotting World War Ⅲ!” in English. This report was scheduled to be released on the 20th but was released a day late due to local police repression.
