WORKERS, FOR YOURS, NOT THE STRUGGLE OF BOURGEOIS FACTIONS
The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) calls on the working people of Serbia not to participate in the pro-imperialist protests organized by the bourgeois opposition and their student supporters in Belgrade on Saturday, March 15, nor in any other protests of this reactionary formation.
The NKPJ also firmly calls on the working people of Serbia not to participate in any counter-protests of the pro-imperialist bourgeois government and its loyal students, both on March 15 and on any other date.
Both pro-imperialist bourgeois camps, both the ruling and the opposition, are pursuing an anti-popular, anti-worker, and anti-student policy, while demonstrating shameless, vulgar, and deceitful anticommunism.
The NKPJ expressed its condolences for the terrible tragedy and the loss of 15 human lives in the collapse of the shelter at the Railway Station in Novi Sad and demanded the determination of responsibility for this event that has darkened our country.
On the other hand, practice has shown that in the past four and a half months, the bourgeois opposition and its loyal students have not been fighting to determine the responsibility of those who caused the tragedy. Instead, it serves as a cover for their attempt to seize power and faithfully serve the interests of Western imperialism, just as they consistently did from the October 5th counter-revolutionary coup of 2000 until 2012 when they lost it.
Also, in the past four and a half months, practice has shown that the bourgeois government and its loyal students are not fighting against the “ruination of the country” and the “color revolution” because, otherwise, they would not be implementing the pro-imperialist course dictated by Washington, Brussels, and London. Their sole goal is the preservation of the privileges of the current regime.
The NKPJ calls on students not to participate in the factional conflicts between the pro-imperialist opposition and government but to turn their attention to the struggle for their social interests, namely free education and the abolition of the reactionary “Bologna Declaration,” which hinders education for children from working-class families. In this fight, they should follow the bright example set by the progressive student organization, “Student Front.” This struggle can only be successfully carried out to the end through the united efforts of all oppressed layers of our society, led by the working class.
The NKPJ calls on the working people to ignore the factional conflicts between the bourgeois government and opposition, who both advocate for Serbia’s entry into the imperialist prison of nations, the European Union, which exists only to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Instead, it is necessary to fight against the looming wave of factory closures and job losses in our country, announced by exploitative foreign investors due to the global capitalist crisis and the continued implementation of the reactionary privatization process, which is against the interests of both the state and its citizens.
The NKPJ calls on the working class, the rural proletariat, students, pensioners, youth, the unemployed, Yugoslavs, and honest intellectuals to form a People’s Front of all the oppressed in the struggle for social justice and against Western imperialism, which occupies the southern Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija.
The first step in this path is the boycott and clear criticism of the mutual confrontation between the anti-popular and pro-imperialist opposition and government, which has been ongoing for a full four and a half months due to their opposing bourgeois interests, for which the working class and youth have no reason to participate.
Long live the struggle of the working people for social justice and against imperialism!
