On March 28, a meeting was held at the May 28 Social Center in the Rovato Civic and Cultural Center in Italy. About 40 local activists, including pro-Palestinian organizations that oppose the US and NATO and popular organizations that oppose U.S. military bases, gathered.
The World Anti-imperialist Platform (the Platform) and the Committees to Support the Resistance for Communism (CARC) are organizing a nationwide meeting tour to promote the anti-NATO movement in Italy.
The name of the center, “May 28th Social Center,” comes from the desire to remember the anti-fascists who were massacred by fascists on May 28, 1974, and to urge the punishment of fascists.
In Rovato, where there is a military airport that imports US weapons, the civil aviation workers are actively fighting against the transportation of military supplies.
Mattia from the CARC, who moderated the event, explained about the event, saying, “We are currently in the midst of World War 3. We will discuss and find solutions together to prevent World War 3 in Europe, West Asia (the Middle East), and the Western Pacific and to protect our territory and country.”
As the first announcement, the delegation of the Platform said, “Today, the situation of the “Republic of Korea”(“ROK”, South Korea) is moving from the insurrection to a civil war. The far-right reactionary rioters who caused the“ January 19 riot” of bloody clashes, destruction of the court, and an attempt to set fire to the court building due to the imprisonment of Yoon Suk-yeol are currently preparing for the next riot that will far surpass the “January 19 riot” by plotting the “destroying of Constitutional Court” and launching the “riot operations” on the far-right website ahead of the Constitutional Court’s impeachment of Yoon Suk-yeol.”
He then revealed that “Imperialist warmongers set behind the civil war maneuvers of the insurgents and rebellion groups. Since the US military occupied the “ROK” in September 1945, the US imperialist aggressor has been behind and manipulated the coup d’état, martial law, and self-fabricated scenario of the pro-US fascist powers Rhee Syng-man, Park Chung-hee, and Chun Doo-hwan.”
And “Imperialist warmongers, facing worsening military, political, and economic crises, are seeking a way out through a “New Cold War” system via World War 3. Whereas the socialist and imperialist camps formed the “Cold War” system after World War 2, nowadays, both World War 3 and the “New Cold War” manipulations are simultaneously promoted. Imperialist warmongers are waging war far from their own territories through a non-nuclear hybrid war, using pro-US fascist forces such as Ukraine, Israel, Japan, and the “ROK” as their war proxies.”
Shoukri Hroub, the Arab-Palestinian Democratic Union, emphasized, “What we must recognize is that we do not want a war, but we will fight it. Imperialism does not want to maintain the current order, but to destroy everything. We must fight for our interests. Only then will the mask of imperialism be finally lifted and its true intentions revealed.”
He then analyzed, “Solidarity for Palestine plays an important role in the global war. The Palestinian flag symbolizes not only the struggle for Palestine, but also the struggles in other regions, including Yemen. The forces that oppress in Palestine and Italy are not that different.”
Luigi Borelli, the representative of the Montichiari Airport Workers’ Union and a member of the Italian Union of the Metalworkers (USB), said, “We know who is trying to turn us against each other. They are pushing workers and the people into war. Our struggle is not only for the workers fighting at the airport, but also for other workers.”
He also said, “We do not want war, and we do not want the massacre against Palestinians. The company that I work for at the airport stopped paying my salary because I joined this struggle. We are conducting an immediate strike every time a military aircraft comes in. We need to raise the consciousness of the workers.”
Claudia Marcolini, a member of CARC, said, “Last December, several organizations gathered in Bologna to oppose NATO. It was a very important gathering of different organizations, even if they had different ideas. We need to gather together and oppose the US imperialism.” She emphasized the importance of this event.
Also, “I expect that various rallies will be organized against the NATO summit this June in the new anti-NATO organization. As the comrades of the Platform have said, the world war is a battle between imperialism and anti-imperialism. Every crisis is an opportunity. This struggle will be met with repression, but it will lead to an even greater uprising and will oppose the new order.”
Beppe Corioni, Uomini e donne contro la guerra, said, “The media is producing fake news. The current democracy stems from neoliberalism. Today, capitalism does not mean democracy. The current ruling party is no longer a party for the workers. We must change the government. The current right-wing government has had no positive impact at all. We must form a new and healthy government.”
He continued, “What I want to emphasize is that the front line is not only in Palestine and Ukraine, but also in the Western Pacific against China. The US fired a medium-range missile at the Philippines. The US’ intention to start World War 3 can be seen in many cases. For the past few years, US imperialism has been demonstrating the Nazi-style theory that if you repeat a lie, people will believe it.” claimed.
The speakers and the audience watched a video related to the declaration of a martial law in “ROK”.
Finally, they shared their perceptions of the current world situation on the major battlefields of World War 3, made resolutions, and sang “The International” with great vigor.

Let’s unite under the banner of the anti-imperialist and fight vigorously
The “Republic of Korea (ROK)” is currently evolving from insurrection to civil war. The insurrection collaborators applied a bizarre legal interpretation that destroyed the positive law and “released” Yoon Suk-yeol on March 8. This has further intensified the crisis of riots and civil war. This is why the “release” of Yoon Suk-yeol is a signal of riots and even civil war.
The far-right reactionary rioters are trying to instigate a civil war by causing bloodshed, riots, and plots to shoot and declare martial law. Rioting is an event of “unrest”, and the “unrest” corresponds to an “incident” that is a prerequisite for martial law. Suppose the second martial law is declared under the condition that the insurgency and rebellious forces still control the military, prosecutor, and police. In that case, the firing that failed during the first martial law trial will surely be carried out. Then, a civil war will break out. If you add local wars to this, a war in the “ROK” will break out. In the “ROK” the civil war in 1948, the local war in 1949, and the Korean war in 1950 broke out. The current situation is a dangerous situation where a civil war, a local war, and a war in the “ROK” could break out in three months or three weeks instead of three years.
If the Constitutional Court upholds Yoon’s impeachment, the riots of the far-right reactionary rioters will become more serious, and if it is dismissed, the “ROK” people will take to the streets in an even bigger uprising, surpassing the December uprising, in which 2 million people participated. On the other hand, if Yoon Suk-yeol returns to the presidency and declares a second martial law, the entire country will be transformed into a “bloody mess” according to the “notes of Noh Sang-won” that plotted genocide and permanent rule. The situation would then evolve into civil war, local war, and war in the “ROK”. Whether the impeachment is upheld or dismissed, the situation is extremely critical with a high probability of a war in the “ROK”.
The original “D-Day” of the war in the “ROK” was October 2024. The imperialist warmongers tried to start the war in the “ROK” with an unmanned drone attack on Pyongyang in October and expand it to the wars in East Asia and the Western Pacific to accelerate World War 3. Also, Yoon tried to declare martial law on the pretext of it. However, all of this was crushed by the DPRK’s “strategic patience”. After the failure of the villainous scheme of the “local war against the DPRK”, Yoon prepared the “first Martial Law and latter self-fabricated play”, but it was canceled by the December Uprising of the Korean people. The insurgents and rebellion groups tried to mobilize the Presidential Security Service during the execution of Yoon’s warrant of arrest from December 31, 2024 to January 15, 2025, to cause shootings and bloody clashes, but they failed again. Starting with the “January 19 riot”, the country is currently going through a sequence of clashes, riots, shootings, and martial law.
There are imperialist warmongers behind the civil war maneuvers of the insurgents and rebellion groups. Since the US military occupied the “ROK” in September 1945, the US imperialist aggressor has been behind and manipulated the coup d’état, martial law, and self-fabricated scenario of the pro-US fascist powers Rhee Syng-man, Park Chung-hee, and Chun Doo-hwan. This is an objective fact. In 2017, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) set up the “Mission Center” for a single country in “ROK” for the first time in the world to prepare for various operations, and there is strong speculation that the director of the CIA in 2019 contacted the then Prosecutor General Yoon Suk-yeol.
In February 2022, World War 3 began with the war in Ukraine, and Yoon Suk-yeol, who took office in May, acted as a complete war puppet for the US imperialists. The number of joint US-“ROK” military exercises was 132 in 2003-2022, 123 in 2023, and more than 130 in 2024, which shows Yoon’s pro-US belligerence and the reality of the Korean Peninsula in a “low-intensity war”. “Loyalty 8000” martial law drills were held for two weeks during the massive US-“ROK” joint military exercise “Freedom Shield” in March 2024. Since December 3, when the emergency martial law was imposed, the US has changed its words. It first said that the “The US was not aware in advance of the South Korean martial law decision,” then that the “The US knew it in advance,” and finally that “we knew in advance of the preparations for the self-fabricated scenario.”
The reason why the US imperialist aggressors manipulated the insurrection and rebellion groups behind the scenes is to make World War 3 obviously through the civil war and war in the “ROK.” The emergency martial law on 3 December should be seen in the context of the sharp international situations that occurred before and after the election of Trump, the attempted assassination of Trump in July, Ukraine’s invasion of Kursk in August, the Israeli bombing of Lebanon in September, the Ukraine’s spread of the “rumor of the DPRK troops deployment to Russia” in October, the permitting of US-backed long-range missiles to hit the Russian mainland in November and the launch of Oreshnik by Russia in response, and the collapse of the anti-US regime in Syria in December.
The imperialist warmongers, who are trying to block the “reversal of the World War 3 highway,” promoted by Trump – who was elected with the promise of “pulling out of NATO” and “ending the war in Ukraine” – are trying to make World War 3 an irreversible trend with shocking events. While the Kiev authorities’ self-fabricated scenario of a Russian drone attack in Chernobyl and Netanyahu’s potential attack on Iranian nuclear facilities are in the spotlight, World War 3 will be in full swing once the war in the “ROK” and war in East Asia begin.
The imperialist warmongers are targeting Eastern Europe, Western Asia, East Asia, and the Western Pacific as the three main battlefields of World War 3. This is manifested in their designation of the DPRK-China as the “new axis of aggression” along with Russia and Iran. As a preliminary preparation for the war in East Asia and Western Pacific, the US formed the “Northeast Asian NATO” with Japan and the “ROK” through the “Camp David Declaration” in August 2023 and realized it with the “Freedom Edge” multi-domain joint military exercise in June 2024. The US-NATO completed the “Pacificization of NATO” at the Washington Summit in July 2024 and fully concentrated it with multinational joint military exercises in East Asia and the Pacific, including “Freedom Edge,” “Rimpac,” and “Ulchi Freedom Shield” between June and August 2024.
Under the positive law in the “ROK”, being the leader of a rebellion is punishable only by death, and other rebels are sentenced to a severe punishment. If Yoon is dismissed, early presidential elections will be held within 60 days, and if a reformist government comes to power, a special prosecutor will reveal the truth of Yoon’s fascist repression, corruption, rebellion, insurrection, and treason. Then the far-right reactionary forces will be unavoidable to destroy. Meanwhile, the civil war is the detonator of the war in the “ROK”, and the war in the “ROK” is the signal for a war in East Asia and World War 3, so for the imperialist warmongers, the civil war and the war in the “ROK” are not an option but a necessity. In short, civil war is the only way out for the insurgents who are about to die, and the war in the “ROK” is the best strategy of the imperialist warmongers who are desperate for World War 3 and war in East Asia.

The superiority of the anti-imperialist camp in terms of justification, capabilities, and operations raises expectations for the end of World War 3.
The essence of World War 2 is a world anti-fascist war, and that of World War 3 is a world anti-imperialist war. Fascism, along with social democracy, is a way of ruling the people by imperialist forces. Colonial fascism, implanted by imperialism, is a way of ruling the colonial people and nations by imperialism. At present, the Ukrainian neo-Nazis, Israeli Zionists, Japanese militarists, and the fascist forces in the “ROK” are the proxies and “shock troops” of World War 3. This is why the world’s people must form a broad world anti-imperialist front and intensify their anti-imperialist joint struggle.
The World Anti-imperialist Platform (the Platform) declared the historic Paris Declaration as its program, setting out three major goals: strengthening the world anti-imperialist mass struggle, waging an ideological battle against revisionism and opportunism, and strengthening the international communist movement. To this end, starting with Paris, France, in October 2022, the Platform held international anti-imperialist conferences, colloquiums, rallies, marches, and meetings with workers, peasants, youth and women in Belgrade, Serbia in December 2022, Caracas, Venezuela in March 2023, Gwangju and Seoul, the “ROK” in May 2023, Athens, Greece in November 2023, Washington, USA, in July 2024, Dakar, Senegal in October 2024. Furthermore, the Platform participated in the protest against the foundation of NATO Headquarters in Florence in September 2024 and the rally for the liberation of Palestine in Rome in October 2024, firmly committed to the dissolution of NATO and the strengthening of the anti-imperialist front. This year, the Platform is preparing for anti-NATO demonstrations and the Hague international conference and colloquium, scheduled to coincide with the NATO summit in Hague on June 24~25, 2025. As the imperialist warmongers are now enacting their war provocations more frequently, more aggressively, and more recklessly on a global scale, united struggle under the banner of anti-imperialism is the most important and urgent task for anti-imperialists today. The Platform, which has marched forward with the two main slogans, “Proletarians of all countries, unite!” and “The people, united, will never be defeated!”, will continue to innovate and advance to strengthen the anti-imperialist front until the day when the global independence and true peace are realized.
