On March 30th, the third day of the series of meetings in Italy, the meeting and discussion were held in Milan, Italy.
First, the audience watched a video that summarized the events that took place after the martial law on Dec. 3, 2024, and then the speech of the representative of the World Anti-imperialist Platform (the Platform) was delivered in Italian. The audience listened carefully as they read the speech, which had been printed and distributed in Italian in advance.
The delegation of the Platform said, “In February 2022, World War 3 began with the war in Ukraine, and Yoon Suk-yeol, who took office in May, acted as a complete war puppet for the US imperialists. The number of joint US-“ROK” military exercises was 132 in 2003-2022, 123 in 2023, and more than 130 in 2024, which shows Yoon’s pro-US belligerence and the reality of the Korean Peninsula in a “low-intensity war”. “Loyalty 8000” martial law drills were held for two weeks during the massive US-“ROK” joint military exercise “Freedom Shield” in March 2024″.
And, “The reason why the US imperialist aggressors manipulated the insurrection and rebellion groups behind the scenes is to make World War 3 obviously through the civil war and war in the “ROK.” The emergency martial law on 3 December should be seen in the context of the sharp international situations that occurred before and after the election of Trump, the attempted assassination of Trump in July, Ukraine’s invasion of Kursk in August, the Israeli bombing of Lebanon in September, the Ukraine’s spread of the “rumor of the DPRK troops deployment to Russia” in October, the permitting of US-backed long-range missiles to hit the Russian mainland in November and the launch of Oreshnik by Russia in response, and the collapse of the anti-US regime in Syria in December”.
Also, “The imperialist warmongers, who are trying to block the “reversal of the World War 3 highway,” promoted by Trump – who was elected with the promise of “pulling out of NATO” and “ending the war in Ukraine” – are trying to make World War 3 an irreversible trend with shocking events. While the Kiev authorities’ self-fabricated scenario of a Russian drone attack in Chernobyl and Netanyahu’s potential attack on Iranian nuclear facilities are in the spotlight, World War 3 will be in full swing once the war in the “ROK” and war in East Asia begin”.
On behalf of the Committees to Support the Resistance for Communism (CARC), Claudia Marcolini, said, “
The international community of US imperialists, European imperialists and Zionists is dragging humanity into World War 3, a war that today is against the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and against all countries that oppose the maneuvers by which US imperialists seek to maintain their role of supremacy over the world. World War 3 is the consequence of a general crisis of the capitalist system. A crisis that affects every sector of society: on an economic, political, social and cultural level.”
At the same time, “The Trump administration immediately began to intensify the attacks on the EU, more precisely on the Franco-German imperialist groups that are its pillar. The Meloni government is the target of attacks from the “European party” faction on both the international and national level.”
She said, “There will be Anti-NATO rally on April 4-6. There will be a Palestinian Solidarity Rally on April 12. April 25 is the day for the liberation of Italy, and we are organizing a demonstration to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the fight against Nazism and fascism and to oppose the Meloni government and establish a People’s government, the only government for the end of the war.”
After the presentation, a discussion began. The audience, who listened carefully to the presentation, asked questions about “What are the alternatives to NATO?”, “Examples of fake flag operations”, “The role of workers at the anti-government rallies”, and “What are the similarities and differences between Italy and Korea?, etc.”
The delegation of the Platform explained, “NATO is a military force of an imperialist alliance that wages war and is a means to oppress the people. So, it is natural that it should be disbanded. After the fall of imperialism, it is important to form popular governments and popular armies in each country and work for world peace.”
Then, “before the outbreak of the “Dec. 3 Martial Law,” there was an unmanned aerial vehicle attack on Pyongyang in October, 2024. It was revealed that this was caused by the military. It was revealed during the impeachment that the Ministry of National Defense had created a scenario in which the military of the “ROK” was disguised as the army of the DPRK and attacked by the DPRK. The December 3rd Incident failed and was an attempt at a self-coup to start the War in the “ROK”. In fact, the imperialist forces in the “ROK”, which had no military operational authority, were like a drone attack on Pyongyang to start World War 3”.
“Although more than 2 million people gathered at the anti-government rally, the people have not yet realized that the United States is behind the martial law. The PDP (People’s Democracy Party)’s newspapers and strong practices are playing a role in enlightening the people, leading them to the right path, and revealing the essence of the current situations. South Korea has a strong history of workers movements. It is important for workers to declare a general strike and increase their role in the fight against the illegal release of Yoon Suk-yeol and the second and third martial law”, he added.
Finally, he highlighted “The fact that Europe declared its rearmament and expressed its intention to dispatch peacekeeping troops to Ukraine shows that Europe is not free from war either. We must take full advantage of the contradiction between Trump, who does not want war, and NATO, an imperialist organization that wants war. Just like the struggle in South Korea, where two million people gathered to oppose the Dec. 3 martial law, popular uprisings are bound to occur in Italy as well. The establishment of the Anti-NATO Committee and the anti-NATO struggle will receive the greatest support from the people. The anti-NATO struggle is our hope and the spark of the struggle”.
Finally, the participants took a photo holding up the slogan “Disband NATO!” The meeting ended with a big round of applause.
