On June 18, the 2nd International Anti-Imperialist Conference of the World Anti-Imperialist Youth Platform (Youth Platform) was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, under the theme “Situation of World War 3 and the Task of Anti-Imperialist Youth.”
The World Anti-Imperialist Youth Platform, the youth section of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, was founded in Athens, Greece, in November 2023. It held its first international anti-imperialist conference independently in Athens, consistently upholding anti-imperialist and anti-NATO slogans, actively organizing events and struggles highlighting the characteristics of youth and student sectors.
Youth delegates from about ten organizations attending the conference analyzed the intense current international situation—including the escalation of war in Eastern Europe and West Asia (the Middle East), and the growing war crisis in East Asia and the Western Pacific—and engaged in passionate discussions on the realities of youth in each country and the tasks facing youth movements. They especially resolved to firmly participate in the anti-imperialist joint struggle ahead of the NATO summit scheduled for June 24. A solidarity statement condemning the forced conscription attempt by the Ukrainian fascist regime against the Kononovich brothers was also released.
Speakers included Vukašin Žunić, Central Committee member of the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ, Serbia); the Baltic Platform; the Committees to Support the Resistance for Communism (CARC Party, Italy); Spiros Patelis, a member of the central council and head of the youth section of Revolutionary Unification (Greece); and Progressive Youth League (“ROK”).
Written statements were submitted by Fabrizio Da Silva of the Federation of the Communist Youth (Youth League of Communist Party (Italy)); the Juventud Infantista de Nación Andaluza (Andalusia); Janny Mbala of the League of Young Farmers of the DRC (LJP-RDC); the Revolutionary Student Union (DÖB); and the youth sector of Patriotic Workers Movement (KMM)—the mass workers’ organization of the Philippines Communist Party (PKP-1930).
Vukašin Žunić of SKOJ emphasized, “It becomes clear that the world is sliding toward a new conflict,” referencing “NATO members’ military support for the war in Ukraine, imperialist attempts to dominate the Korean Peninsula, and Israeli aggression including attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.”
He stressed, “Today, in this new global context, it is the youth who are under the greatest pressure.” He added, “The war ignited in Yugoslavia pushed thousands upon thousands of young men into the bloodiest conflict in Europe since the end of WW2.” Furthermore, he noted, “Turning rifles and tank barrels against their former comrades was a direct consequence of imperialist intervention,” highlighting the importance of youth solidarity and struggle.
The Baltic Platform stated, “The aggressors gather in the Netherlands to divide the world and expand their influence, colonizing it. We must fight for the future of our world.” They asserted, “Imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism. It is being obscured by proxy forces, and we must raise awareness of youth and mobilize them to fight back.”
The CARC Party analyzed, “The world domination that the imperialist bourgeoisie has taken over again after the dissolution of the USSR and the socialist field has now resulted in the Third World War in pieces.” They noted that “War is the only answer the bourgeoisie can give to the general crisis of its system. “It’s now finding increasingly difficult to uphold the world dominance. They stressed, “As the CARC Party we think it is essential to promote the birth of student collectives in every school and university, to work to strengthen them, to push them to network and coordinate with workers’ and popular organisations.”
Fabrizio Da Silva, the representative of the Federation of the Communist Youth pointed out, “The peoples who once defeated Nazism and fascism are now accused of being fascists themselves, while those who still today honor their links to Hitler’s collaborators are shown as freedom fighters.” He stressed, “In this difficult situation, the role of youth organizations becomes even more important. We need to bring together everyone who starts to see the contradictions in the system, but who has not yet been shaped by the ideology of the ruling class.” and added “We must immerse ourselves in each particular reality, study its contradictions carefully, and give answers based on real, concrete analysis.”
The Juventud Infantista de Nación Andaluza declared “NATO’s presence in Andalusia is dangerous, unwanted, and contrary to our interests. The bases in Rota, Morón, Viator… and Gibraltar place Andalusia at the logistical center at the gateway to the Mediterranean and violate Andalusian sovereignty, ceding our lands to foreign interests.”
They added, “The outlook for the young working class is the worst in the entire European Union. Young Andalusians find themselves, completely artificially and arbitrarily, in a completely precarious situation.” “This leaves us with our youth unable to emancipate themselves, unable to have a home of their own, unable to survive.” “The Andalusian working class and its youth need more than ever to organize forcefully against the elements that threaten us and keep us in this situation: NATO, the United States, England, the European Union, and Spain.”
Janny Mbala of LJP-RDC reported that, “On this day when capitalism, imperialism, and neocolonialism are destroying our cultures and our just and precious way of life based on socialism, love, and solidarity for our people, our peace is being destroyed in order to exploit our natural resources and disrupt our solidarity by imposing an educational system that does not correspond to our way of life.” She expressed strong solidarity with the international anti-imperialist conference and anti-NATO struggle.
Revolutionary Student Union stated, “The imperialist war ongoing today is fundamentally different from the First and Second Imperialist World Wars—it is not about territorial division or rivalry among imperialist powers; rather, it is a war launched by imperialism and global capitalism as a bloc against socialism, workers, and working peoples.” They added “we have witnessed an escalation of NATO’s imperialist attacks—in Russia, China, Korea, Syria, Kurdistan, and Palestine. The capitalist system is collapsing worldwide, and every plan to delay this collapse spells death for the world’s peoples.”
They continued, “By exposing the role and complicity of our own bourgeois governments in these wars, the anti-imperialist youth united to overthrow capitalism will carry victory against imperialism to every corner of the world.”
Juan Rafael Emmanuel Losanez of the KMM-Youth criticized “They need proxy warriors to do the dirty and bloody work for them. This is what happened in Ukraine, the same they want it done in Asia.” and “Client proxy nations are forced to arm themselves, slash their much-needed budget for social, education, food sovereignty budget for arm purchase.” And he strongly condemned the concrete realities of expanding military bases in the Philippines to contain China and the deployment of imperialist weapons.
Spiros Patelis of Greece’s Revolutionary Unification revealed that, “The imperialist regime spreads divisive ideologies through formal institutions such as education and the media, as well as through their agents within the movement―notably opportunists and revisionists such as the current KKE/KNE leadership. This faction engages in subversive activities such as interfering in other parties’ internal affairs to gain control, financing fractionalists to cause splits, promoting the dogma of “the Imperialist Pyramid” and the position of “equal distances” during the escalation of WW3.”
He also warned that, “Masquerading as “pure revolutionaries”, this toxic opportunism-revisionism weaponises historical symbols and pseudo-revolutionary rhetoric to exploit the disillusionment of the youth, only to reject anti-imperialism and socialist struggle in practice,” emphasizing that, “It is a war between two adversaries: the imperialist axis of aggression, led by the USA, and the anti-imperialist and socialist forces. It is clear that we are facing one enemy.”
Progressive Youth League analyzed that “Avoiding direct confrontation with nuclear powers like the DPRK, China, and Russia, the imperialists are instead provoking proxy wars, manipulating Ukraine, the “ROK,” Taiwan, and the Philippines into launching regional conflicts. In West Asia, Zionist Israel has assumed the role of imperialist shock troops, invading Palestine and other “Axis of Resistance” countries while threatening to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities and deliberately inflaming war in the region.” They also stated, “NATO summits are war plotting sessions for the imperialist forces. Since 2022, they have become the staging ground for World War 3.”
They stressed that, “Under the conditions of World War 3, the youth crisis has grown even more severe. Imperialist powers are pushing youth into war, turning them into cannon fodder.” They added, “The youth struggle against the 2025 NATO Summit is of enormous significance. As the imperialist camp pushes forward with its plans for world war through NATO, the anti-imperialist forces must confront NATO head-on with fierce and determined struggle.”

Resolution of the 2025 World Anti-Imperialist Youth Platform
Dismantle NATO, Defeat Imperialism!
Today, humanity stands amid the storm of World War 3 unleashed by imperialism. The war that began in Ukraine has spread across West Asia (the Middle East), now reaching East Asia and the Pacific. Unable to survive without war, the imperialist forces are driving headlong into a full-scale world war in a desperate attempt to escape their systemic crisis.
NATO, the command post of imperialist war, has extended its reach far beyond the North Atlantic—into the Mediterranean, the Gulf, and even the Pacific. It manipulates proxies across the globe to wage war against anti-imperialist forces.
Since World War 2, imperialist powers have invaded liberated anti-imperialist nations and dismantled the socialist camp. Today, they seek to “demonize” sovereign, independent anti-imperialist countries and reorganize the world through World War 3 under a “New Cold War” order while dividing the world once more between the imperialist and anti-imperialist camps.
Unable to endure further imperialist aggression and oppression, anti-imperialist forces are rising up on every theatre of this world war to overthrow imperialism. Progressive people around the world must intensify popular anti-imperialist movements in every region.
We, the youth of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, must stand firmly on the side of the anti-imperialist camp. Imperialist powers do not stop at exploiting and oppressing young people—they turn youth into cannon fodder for imperialist wars and scapegoats for wartime economies. The struggle of anti-imperialist youth is a demand of the entire anti-imperialist camp—it is the only path by which the youth of the world can seize their future.
We inherit the spirit of the young resistance fighters who stood against fascism during World War 2, we will rise against imperialist war and stand in firm unity with the world anti-imperialist struggle.
Ahead of the 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague—an imperialist war plotting session—we, the anti-imperialist youth of the world, resolve as follows:
- We will resolutely fight against the imperialist forces fueling World War 3 and scheming to “Pacificization of NATO.”
- We will oppose the NATO Summit, this imperialist war plot, and bravely struggle for the dismantling of NATO.
- We will stand in unwavering solidarity with anti-imperialist states and forces around the world—including the DPRK, China, Russia, and Iran.
- We will take the lead in supporting the struggles of peoples worldwide who resist imperialism.
- We will expose and counter the lies of imperialist propaganda that seeks to demonize anti-imperialist resistance, and we will speak truth to the world.
- We will uphold the revolutionary principles of the international communist movement against pseudo-theories and sectarianism.
- We will continue to learn, struggle, and grow as the youthful vanguard of the international communist movement and the world anti-imperialist struggle.
Dismantle NATO! Defeat Imperialism!
