On October 25th, the international delegation of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform successfully concluded the 9th historic International Anti-Imperialist Conference in Caracas and participated in the PCV National Conference.
Henry Parra, PCV General Secretary, stated, “We are continuing the revolutionary path with President Maduro. We must always safeguard peace and be able to defend ourselves.” He added, “The National Election held in May was the first in the party’s history and people participated from all regions of the country. It was very successful. We organized all the necessary committees to move forward to the official Party Congress next year.” He expressed his respect to the delegates attending on behalf of their respective nations.
DUP(Dynamique Unitaire Panafricaine, 23 Organisations in Africa) secretary general Adama Coulibaly said “There is also conflict in Africa. It is important for communists to struggle to seize power. International solidarity is necessary.” And he stressed the importance of internaional solidarity.
Lusine Karapetyan, a member of the Communist Party of Armenia, delivered the address on behalf of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform. She stated, “In 1945, eighty years ago, the international communist forces and the militant people achieved a great victory against fascism. In World War 2, countless people around the world—including the Soviet Union—shed their blood and gave their lives for liberation and revolution. History clearly remembers the invincible strength demonstrated by the Soviets of workers, peasants, and soldiers, who stood firmly united under the leadership of the Bolsheviks and the Communist Party. Ultimately, we are confident that the history of Venezuela will also advance on that very path—following the revolutionary locomotive, the revolutionary party of the working class, the Communist Party, and achieving certain and victorious glory.
The statement further warned, “Historically, we are well aware that during the time of great upheaval of World War 1 and World War 2, the rampant actions of imperialist forces and sectarian opportunists seeking to divide and weaken the international communist movement were severe. Now, the storm of World War 3, unleashed by imperialism, is blowing from Eastern Europe through West Asia (the Middle East) and onto East Asia and the Western Pacific, while US imperialist forces are signaling a new war of aggression against Venezuela in Latin America. ”
The World Anti-Imperialist Platform, a coalition of more than 80 parties worldwide committed to communism and leading the anti-imperialist struggle, fully supports the innovation and progress of the PCV and reaffirms its unwavering solidarity moving forward.“
Finally, PCV General Secretary Henry Parra declared, “This marks the official start of the vital process for the PCV’s 16th Congress.” He then vigorously led the chanting of the conference’s slogan: “Against Imperialist Aggression, Unity of Communists!”
The delegation, along with PCV members, joined in chanting the slogan and showed their support for Venezuela with fervent applause.
