Trump stated, “Blocking Venezuela’s Drug Trafficking and Ground Operations to Begin Soon”

On November 27, US President Trump indicated a possible expansion of maritime military operations onto land, saying that “efforts to halt Venezuelan drug trafficking by land would begin very soon.”

During a video call with service members from Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, Trump stressed that “ground strike operations against Venezuelan drug criminal organizations will begin shortly.”

Earlier, on the 26th, the US Southern Command Air Force announced in a statement that a B-52H strategic bomber had conducted tactical attack training in international airspace over the Caribbean along Venezuela’s coastline.

At the beginning of this month, Trump, referring to “stepped-up efforts to crack down on Venezuela’s drug exports,” had also expressed that he would not rule out the deployment of ground forces to Venezuela.
