Struggle for expedition to Hiroshima by the People’s Democracy Party (South Korea) and World Anti-Imperialist Platform was panned out over the G7 summit period, from May 19 to May 21(local time).
The expedition participated in an anti-G7 rally at Funairi Daiichi Park in Hiroshima and attended “No Hiroshima G7 summit!” international solidarity forum hosted in Hiroshima on May 19.
This day the expedition loudly chanted “Kishida should not take advantage of Hiroshima ”, “US should apologize nuclear bomb-dropping”, “Oppose G7 summit in Hiroshima”, “Oppose G7 summit, dividing the world”, “The world is not yours”, “Fight for peace by the power of the people” with anti-US and anti-war peace organizations gathering for opposing G7 summit.
In international solidarity forum, a member of People’s Democracy Party pointed out that “When US’s strategy for proxy war in Ukraine didn’t work as expected, US imperialism moved it to East Asia and tried to escape crisis, scheming provocation of war exercise against North Korea and Taiwan separation and independence.”
She also stressed “The South Korean war and Taiwan war raised an issue of tactical nuclear and it became a most likely areas for war, following East Europe. It is very crucial for anti-imperialist and peace-loving forces to unite and fight against imperialism.”
The expedition was strongly exercised in exotic interests and support of locals. On May 20, the expedition joined the rally in Senda Park organized by ‘the Joint Action Against G7 Summit’ and marched to the summit site.
They marched with banners “Stop War Cooperation between the US-Japan-South Korea! No Nuclear War Maneuvers against North Korea!”, “Oppose the G7 for Asia version of Nato! Withdraw all US troops all over the world!” in English and Japanese, and attracted attention. Local media eagerly covered the struggle, requesting interviews with the expedition.
Charles Hoareau, a representative of the ANC (France), made a speech, “The G7 is a group that was born to serve the interests of capital and imperialism and is threatening peace. If the G7 is a group for peace, Would it invite only Zelensky?”, “Zelensky’s participation is a war provocation” and “In the name of the ANC, a member of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, we call for strengthening solidarity among the peoples of the world.
On May 21, the expedition participated in the rally “Condemn of the G7 Joint Statement” organized by “Hiroshima Anti-War Anti-Nuclear Rally August 6” at Fukuromachi Park. They held banners with “Oppose scheme to build Asian version of Nato, G7!”, “Withdraw all US troops all over the world!”, “Condemn US-Japan-South Korea trilateral military alliance” and “Overthrow warmonger Yoon Suk-yeol! Withdraw US troops!”
The expedition’s leader said, “G7 is a war summit of imperialist powers including the United States,” and “The U.S.-Japan-South Korea summit is to implement the U.S. war efforts”, “Let’s liquidate Kishida, Yoon Suk-yeol, and Biden, who are planning a war that could kill the people.”.
All participants replied to her remarks with cheer and applaud.
Meanwhile, People’s Democracy Party announced statements for consecutive three days. Statement was held simultaneously in South Korea, France, and Germany.
People’s Democracy Party(PDP) stated the spokesperson report “Let Us Crush Down the Imperialist Aggressive Manoeuvres Through the World People’s Struggle Against Imperialism and For Independence!”at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on May 19. It announced the spokesperson report “Let Us Put an End to Aggressive Imperialist Forces, Who Are Scheming World War III!” on May 20 and “The G7 Hiroshima Summit is the Scene of the Planning of Nuclear War by the Imperialist Aggressive Forces!” at Fukuromachi Park on May 21.
