On May 27, Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez held a teleconference on the topic of “the Venezuelan electoral process and the Plan of the 7 Transformations in Venezuela”.
She compared Venezuela’s economic situation to that of Germany after World War 2 but remarked that Venezuelans now have a high political consciousness, which is a legacy of Chávez.
She criticized the constant criminal attacks by imperialist powers, including the US, which are not just against the Venezuelan government, but against Venezuela itself and which want to take over the government and use it as a puppet.
Venezuelan leadership is discussing how to keep its heritage intact and create unity among Latin American countries, she said, adding, the Palestinian situation is important now. There are so many problems with Israel. It is an attack on all of humanity, not just Palestine, she emphasized.
She added that we have to create a new world, an anti-hegemonic world. We must oppose Western hegemony and that Russia is not the only country fighting against fascism and neo-fascism. The struggle in Venezuela should be a struggle for independence, and it should be a struggle for Latin America as a whole, she added.
Regarding the upcoming elections in Venezuela on July 28, she said that It’s not just an election, and it should be an election to drive out imperialist influence.
She was calling for solidarity, citing threats against Nicolás Maduro from the US and sabotage on social media.
