Strongly Condemn the Assassination Attempt Against Booker Omole, General Secretary of the Communist Party Marxist–Kenya!
The People’s Democracy Party strongly condemns the attempted assassination of Booker Omole, General Secretary of the Communist Party Marxist (CPM) – Kenya. This assassination attempt is not just an act of terrorism against an individual; it is a political terror aimed at the CPM Kenya, which leads the people’s struggle at the forefront against imperialists and pro-US puppet regimes. It is also a reactionary provocation that threatens the Kenyan people who yearn for anti-imperialist independence and democracy. We urge the Kenyan authorities to punish those responsible severely and to immediately cease the unjust suppression and massacre of the Kenyan progressive forces.
It is clear that the pro-US fascist Kwanza government is behind this assassination attempt. President William Ruto, after forcing through the neoliberal finance bill last year, faced massive anti-government protests and committed a fascist atrocity by killing 78 protesters. The Biden administration invited the mass murderer Ruto as a state guest in May 2024, and the US designated Kenya as a “non-NATO ally”. Kenya has purchased US-made UH-1 Huey military helicopters and is preparing for the largest joint military exercise in East Africa, “Justified Accord 2025,” clearly aligning itself with the pro-US fascist forces. The intensive repression against the CPM Kenya, which is fighting most fiercely against the pro-US fascist forces, and the assassination attempt on Comrade Booker Omole, is no coincidence.
The world situation is extremely tense due to US imperialism mobilizing the pro-US fascist forces. The imperialist camp, led by the US, is focused on escalating and breaking out wars in Eastern Europe, Western Asia (Middle East), and East Asia, striving to ignite World War 3 in earnest. Kenya’s degeneration into an aggressive outpost in East Africa must be viewed in the context of the unfolding World War 3. It is only a matter of time before the storm of World War 3 will engulf Kenya, which is a so-called “ally” and military base of the US in East Africa. The reason why the anti-fascist struggle of the Kenyan people must develop into a full-scale anti-fascist and anti-imperialist struggle is abundantly clear. The CPM Kenya is at the center of this anti-fascist and anti-imperialist struggle.
We extend our highest respect to the comrades of the CPM Kenya, who, despite extreme threats, continue to lead the anti-fascist and anti-imperialist struggle in Kenya and to the courageous Kenyan people who are willing to fight to the death. The People’s Democracy Party, along with the world anti-imperialist forces, has resolutely condemned the Kwanza government and declared strategic solidarity with the CPM Kenya and the African peoples based on internationalism through the Dakar Anti-Imperialist International Conference of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform. The anti-imperialist and sovereign aspirations of the Kenyan and African peoples, who have been dominated and exploited by Western imperialism for centuries, will surely be realized. Under the banner of “Workers of the world, Unite!” and “The people, united, will never be defeated,” we will fight to the end against imperialist and fascist forces to advance global independence, true peace, and genuine democracy.
